• 80 deg. bank, going down?

I live a few miles form an airfield, when there is a parachutism club. They use a Dornier (57?) for the drops. I see it 15 times a day (!!!), passing over my land. Today, I watched him going down to land, in a nearly 90 deg. bank - and going down FAST! How and why does the pilot do that??? (I have done 60 Deg banks (on C182), but that's about it!) show more

If I chaase him, he is back in 2 seconds and starts staring at me again. When I am in bed, he "sleeps" beside the bed, his head on the bed, looking at me! What is it?? What can I do??

  • Star-Delta switching using triacs schematics?

I need to design a star-delta motor switching using ONLY triacs controlled through opto-isolator(s). Can 3 triacs be driven by the SAME driver/source? TTL control -> one opto-isol -> three gates of three triacs... If you have an idea, send schematics to charlierjeanray@gmail.com. Thanks in advance!

  • How to calculate air flow (m³/h) ?

A smoke flue with an extractor at the end. Section: 40cm x 20cm. Anemometer measures: Top front 4.00m/s Top back: 3.70m/s Middle front: 2.45m/s Middle back: 3.50m/s Bottom front: 1.93m/s Bottom back: 2.55m/s How many cubic meter of air passes there per minutes/hour? Procedure to calculate it will be welcome!

  • Mercedes Elegance strange behaviour: starter not stopping?

  • PPL, 68y/o, retired, around 700hrs single engine. Options to fly F-104??

In the mid-70's, I was a maintenance engineer for the F-104 AFCS, APC, TACAN, RADAR, Giros and Stick... Been once the "dead weight" on a trainer test flight. Always been in love with that plane. Any chance of flying one (forget costs!)

I used it professionally for several years. BUT... VB5 disappeared, and I had to go for VB6, totally incompatible. Program was "lost". I started re-writing it in VB6, but I want it to be open source, and FREE! I am looking for VB6 programmers and electronic engineers prepared to take part in the project, or writing code, or adding parts to libraries. I will create a "tronicspcb.com" website in a few days for more details. Contact on charlierjeanray@gmail.com

The problem is the graphic interface: it must run on Windows. What C IDE do you propose? (I had Borland Turbo C in the past, but we got rid of the IDE and used command lines: much more efficient) What Window graphic library(ies) do you suggest? Any other option?

  • Could a civilian PPL have a go at flying a military fighter jet?

I know I can fly a spitfire in UK, 10 hrs in a trainer, then 1 hr solo (total cost £5000+) if I satisfy the instructor. But what about an F-16, or a Harrier?
