I've been very into the idea of living in a non-traditional living space over the past year. I want to save $, to pay off my student debt, and stop paying rent in apartments. I want to own what I live in, but buying a house is not even close to being on my radar.
QUESTION: If I were to buy a decent single person boat for about 8 to 12k and pay to dock it at a marina...Do I need to have a captains license to live in it? How often do you think I'd have to move it around? Is it unrealistic to think I can live in it year round? Is it safe? I live on the west coast, Portland, OR. We rarely get snow but we do have cold wet months.
