I'm now suspecting my son Jacob is suffering from malnutrition as his skin has the following symptoms... Dull, colour is patchy, tight, always have goose bumps, very very dry after moisturizing. He's fully breastfed.
Reason I started my suspicious... With his severe eczema, I decided to try out the elimination of possible allergenic food method from 3 days ago but I noticed that his 'eczema' got worst although its only been a few days. He is pretty small for his age I reckon although the doctors in hk blame it on his pre-term birth.
Also, he's not sitting up yet and still unable to hold his own head up (he'll be 4mths in 4days). Is this abnormal?
I saw 5 different Dr's so far and as soon as they saw his face, they just said eczema.
One more thing to note... There are a few patches on his face that dont seem to heal properly even with steroid cream, is this a sign of poor immune system?
Bit more info... He had a cold couple of weeks ago with a boarder line temperature. Dr admitted him but got discharged the next day cos no more temp.
I'm planning to take him to see a pediatrician again and mention these things but wants a second opinion. In uk, if a baby has malnutrition, would he be admitted?
P.s. Jacob wouldn't use a bottle hence never supplement with formula.
Thanks a trillion!!!!!!!!!
