Which star has a hotter surface temperature? Explain your answers. I have to do this question for my Astronomy class and I am not exactly sure if I am doing it right. Nykos is bigger because it is luminosity class I which is a Supergiant, right? and Nykos also has the hotter surface temperature because it is the most massive. I think? and isn't the bigger the star the more luminous it is? So wouldn't Nykos be the answer for all of them? or am I just completely wrong? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

  • If Earth’s population grew so much that it increased the mass...?

If Earth’s population grew so much that it increased the mass of the Earth by ¼ of what it is now, what would the effect of the gravitational attraction between the Earth and the sun be? Wouldn't the gravitational attraction be stronger? or am I confusing that with gravitational force?

  • If the distance between Earth and the Sun were to double, what would the effect of the gravitational force be?

Wouldn't the gravitational pull be less because of the distance? Also, If the moon were magically replaced by a body twice its mass, what would the effect on the gravitational force between the moon and Earth be? Would this be more because of the fact that it had a larger mass? Is that right? Thank you for your help!
