  • Who is REALLY Geronimo Jackson?

In the TV show LOST, there is a band called "Geronimo Jackson." As far as I can tell, the band officially has one song, called "Dharma Lady." The song was played in a few episodes, so it's official. It's actually not a bad song...

Anyway, I was wondering who REALLY wrote and sang Dharma Lady. Obviously, if Geronimo Jackson isn't real, another band was pretending to be them. Anyone have any ideas?

  • High-pitched witch doctor?

Does anyone know where to find the high-pitched version of the song Witch Doctor? I always kinda assumed it was Alvin and the Chipmunks, but I'm not so sure now.

To be clear, I'm talking about the 1950s or 1960s version, not the bizarre modern one.

  • Back pain, abdominal pain, coughing?

I'm 17 years old and male.

Four mornings ago, I woke up with pain in my mid to lower back on the left side. I shrugged it off, and started driving to school. I assumed I'd slept strangely. On the way to school, I was rear ended. It wasn't that severe, but it was still a car accident.

I stopped worrying about my back for a few moments and worried about the car. I didn't think much about it until that night. I laid down to sleep, and got to sleep for maybe an hour, before the pain got worse and made it impossible for me to sleep.

The next day, tired and aching, I tried to ignore the pain, which was easy as long as I was moving. When moving around, the pain doesn't hurt much. When sitting down, hurts much more. Laying down makes it hurt even more.

I have also discovered that when I eat a lot, the pain increases, and I also feel a pain in my abdomen just below my ribs. Today, I ate a large amount of food and then took a short run.

When I got back, the pain in my abdomen and back had increased, and I began coughing up something that looked like spit or phlegm. This lasted perhaps ten minutes.

Other strange symptoms include my apparent never-ending desire for water. Typically, I can only drink so much water, but in the past few days, I've been able to drink an apparently infinite amount of water.

I can only sleep when I roll up a blanket or towel and place it on my bed under my lower back.

I've never had back problems (besides from sprains) before. Any ideas?

  • Were Soviet musicians allowed to make nuclear protest songs?

Of course, in America, between the the 1960s and 1980s, people wrote dozens of nuclear protest songs.

I was wondering if there were any popular Soviet ones during that time period. It sounds uncharacteristic to me for the party to allow songs that shows the government in a bad light.

  • How do I add (not free up space on) more hard drive space?

I have a computer with only 111 gigabytes total of hard drive disk space. Unfortunately, I ve filled 95 of those gigabytes, and have had little luck freeing up space.

Is there a realistic way for me (a tech dummy with not much money) to add another hard drive to the computer, or otherwise expand the space of my hard drive? Something you can buy on Amazon, plug into the USB port, and instantly expand your disk space with?

The computer itself is pretty good for my purposes (casual gaming, college homework, occasional streaming, general web surfing), and I would really hate for it to die simply because I ran out of disk space.

  • What old (perhaps 1980s?) song has a chorus that goes...?

"A-high! A-high, high, high, high, high! A-high! A high, high, high, high, high! Highhhh!"

It's probable that those aren't the actual words they're saying. I'm pretty sure it's just gibberish in the chorus, but it sounds kind of like that. Whoever sings it uses a weird voice that makes them sound like they're imitating a pirate. It was a pop song, but I don't remember anything else about it.

  • California Independence Movement Questions?

I m attempting to write a paper on the California Independence Movement, and I need 3 "scholarly sources." I have a way to find scholarly sources (NCLive), but their search engine often comes up with information not pertaining to my topic.

Any scholarly sources on the subject will be appreciated. Sources on how the states are semi-autonomous might also help. Thanks.

  • How does bleach react to blacklight?

If I were to say... Write words with bleach on a piece of paper, and subsequently shine a blacklight on it, how would the bleach react? Would it be visible? Would it glow?

  • Is communism itself evil?

I realize that the USSR was a terrible nation, but they just happened to be communist. That doesn't mean communism itself is evil, yet many seem to act as if it is.

  • How large was the German Communist population before 1936?

Before 1936, when the main buildup of the Reich's power and trip towards WWII began (and including the exile/purge of communists), how large was their red population?

  • What does the morse code at the end of this song mean?

I'm not 100 percent sure whether or not it's morse code, but it sounds like it to me.

Starting at 5:07 in this song, what does the morse in the background say, or is it not morse at all?

  • Were there two babies born in Roanoke Colony?

Everyone knows about Virginia Dare, but on her wikipedia article I found this excerpt: "...the colonists, two of whom were pregnant women..."

This, to me, makes it sound as if there could have been another child born in Roanoke (if the colony survived for long enough). Anywhere that I look at the list of Roanoke residents, Virginia Dare is always listed second to last. The last is always one Kyle Gravitt.

Was Kyle Gravitt the second child to be born to the English in America? Could I please have evidence to back your answer?

  • Restriction the domain of functions?

    Given f(x) = (x+2)^2 - 3

Restrict the domain of f(x) such that the function is one to one. Express the domain in interval notation.

What do they mean "such that the function is one to one"? If possible, could I have a step by step run-through of this?

  • How can I watch my LG Stylus 3 on my TV without wifi?

I just bought an LG Stylus 3, and I want to be able to watch things on my television. I don't have wifi, but I do have unlimited data on my phone, so I want to be able to use it. I don't care if it is wired or wireless, as long as it works. My television is a samsung, and does have HDMI ports. Any ideas? Preferably inexpensive ideas.

  • Are there any good alternate history novels?

Alternate history, especially focusing on WWII (the Second Great War) and the American Civil War. Not quite as gritty as The Man in the High Castle, if possible.
