"State Attorney General Bob Ferguson on Tuesday filed a consumer protection lawsuit against Arlene’s Flowers & Gifts, a Richland florist that refused to supply flowers to the same-sex marriage of a longtime customer."
Like I've been saying all along, same-sex marriage legalization would include a legal assault on all people who work in wedding-related fields who do not want to do business supporting same-sex marriages. It's a field day of assault on our rights to follow our religious beliefs.
Laws forcing businesses to perform services against the religious beliefs of the business owner are no less anti-freedom than the segregation laws that forced businesses to treat black customers differently.
Will there be a lawsuit frenzy against Christian photographers, caterers, dress-makers, bakers, etc?
The concept that government can force people to sell goods and services to others is not a concept based on liberty and freedom.
You can try to argue that not having such laws would allow bigots and racists and whatnots to not engage in business with people they hate, and that is true. But is that worse that having government force businesses and people to violate their own religious convictions?
