  • Sunglasses expert with style?

Ok, I've always had a problem finding stylish sunglasses that fit well, that didn't hurt to wear. I'm photo sensitive and need to wear sunglasses. I'm wearing a pair of shades that hurt, because they weigh too much. I'll post a few names of styles with their corresponding numbers, but I fear the styles I like are much too large for me to wear. This is where I need help from a sunglasses expert. Good shades I'll go without food for, because I'm so photosensitive. Please help me find a few pairs to investigate. I hope under $200 is reasonable for a decent pair. Been to several sunglasses stores. It's like they design shades for people grotesquely overweight only, or want to look like a tripped out bug on steroids.

I find I like the following, but are too big:

    Bugatti 65282

    Christian Dior 2536

Kenneth Cole Reaction KC2413 (found something similar by KC years ago that worked great)

    Porche P'8407

my measurements are for size are the following

    lens' and bridge length

    121mm to 118mm

    Lens height

    115mm to 135mm

Any positive suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Why is the Okanagan a desert?

I was watching a video on permaculture recently, titled "Green Gold", found on youtube. The amazing thing about it was the reclaiming of desertificated caused over exploited agriculture. So I have a theory about the Okanagan region and it's modern use being turned into agricultural land. I'm wondering if the Natives long ago lived in there in a large group, it was over farmed and timbered and long forgotten about. I watched China, Ethiopia and Jordan reclaim their deserts. Would it be a good idea to reclaim that desert land by using terraced gardening techniques and only indigenous shrubbery? If we used students with a payment of summer credits, in 5 years we can turn it into the greenest place in BC. Just a few ideas I'm throwing out there.

  • how to reduce prostitution?

In this day and age, prostitution is a result from necessity and mostly always has been. Today maybe not so much as once upon a time, with promiscuity being promoted in the media and considered normal today. How can we reduce prostitution on a large scale. At the same time be aware of the horrors that come with the industry. I'm all for legalizing it. Regulating it. Enforcing tri-weekly blood tests, taxing it, and containing it for reduction, having the tax generated from their income pay for the health burden, reducing safety risks of homicide, and then eventually controlling their wages to eliminate the problem to a minor part of the population. As long as there are people there will prostitutes. If the governance controlled it, including location, wages, health care and re-training, and I think we can eliminate a large percentage of prostitution. They're going to do it anyways, might as well make it tougher, safer, and with other options for both the tax payer, the law, and for all. Those are my thoughts. What are yours?

  • alternatives to fiberglass?

I know enough about fiberglass from an ecological and health standpoint that the stuff is toxic. So I've been thinking about new ways of less harmful laminates. This is a science question. Could hemp resin if heat cured mixed with hemp cloth create a stiff board that's non toxic? Has anyone tried it before? How would it hold up with the weathering? If it hasn't been done, that's cool too. I'm sick of toxic chemicals that don't work, screwing up everything, and will make me sick if I use it wrong. If you have links to something similar please post them. The product doesn't matter, I'm looking for a new recipe and method, with a green approach.

  • Solutions to end the horrors in Africa?

I've heard a lot of sad stories from this one continent, that are detestable and sad. I'm asking people to trouble shoot and come up with solutions to promote a quality of life that's fair to the people of this continent, since it's long over due. I'm not looking for racist comments, I'm looking for realistic suggestions that should be addressed to all nations to promote positive change for these people. What are your ideas to end despotism across all of Africa?

  • Why is the continent of Africa poor?

I'm not looking for racist comments here, I'm looking for hard economical truths. Why is a large continent so heavily populated so poor, when it is filled with plenty with ability? Who's wallet made it so? What are the reasons for the high level of poverty? That's what I'm asking. Throw in geography facts like desertification and so on, corruption, what type of corruption, and so on. The more comments the better. Does Africa as a continent want change. This is real brain storming to spawn debates on how to improve the quality of life all African nations. Would a continental union like the EU benefit Africa as a whole? I've never been there, but I'm sick of reading horror stories that don't need to happen, and want to know why. It's the world's largest shame for their disarray. I know history has a large part to do with it. Let's be honest. How can the world make life in Africa better for the common inhabitant?

  • laptop wifi techy question?

Say you have a laptop with wifi. Would increasing the size of the antenna wire increase performance of the wifi by creating a larger conductor? I'm asking if anyone's tried this cheap hack by wrapping wire around the wifi antenna wires then isolating the electrons with electrical tape as an insulator. Would it boost signal greatly?

  • why electric aircraft?

Everyone keeps saying that Electric vehicles aren't good enough. I thought I'd give you an example of what current technology without using capacitors does for flight. Say you want to fly from Toronto, Canada to Paris, France. It's an ideal vacation or business trip right? You say EV's aren't fast enough, and I'm saying the prototype designs aren't being built to scale. Now I'm going to crunch some accounting numbers for you. Just to show you we can get off oil today. Right now if you demand it. The average cost for such a flight is around $1000 Canadian/American. Ok check this out, this should convince you, by accounting.

  • have you ever heard the seeds in your apple rattle before?

I bought a bag of apples. I was planning to eat one. As I picked it up, I heard a rattle. I'm guessing it's the seed inside, but I don't think that's ever happened with all the thousands of apples I've eaten. I picked up a few more apples from the lot, and not all the apples rattle, but some of them did. It seems like this is the first time I've noticed this. I'm just asking, have any of you ever noticed this before?
