I came across the word archimandrite in a story about Roma children in Greece.
I thought at first that 'archimandrigte' might have something to do with Archimedes but then on
refection that seemed far too obvious. So anyone who knows what an archimandrite is, I'd like to know. The word starts with archi - which (I think) means 'arch' as in archbishop or some such. But this person is a scholar of high rank - I think.
