• Why would a woman ignore obvious signs that her boyfriend is a cheater?

I've known this guy for 10 years. We used to be roommates. He was interested in dating me but I watched him cheat on many of his girlfriends and then would hear the lies he'd tell them. We would lose touch over the years but then he would always find a way to contact me. I have told him several times that I needed a break from the friendship and have avoided him due to drama and his constant pathological lying habits. He gaslights a lot and is the type of person to text you and ask you to dinner. Then when the day comes, he's a no show and you text him back and said what about dinner? His response is "What dinner?" 'I never said we were going out to dinner, you contacted me". Then I send him a screenshot of the text message and he says "Oh, I don't know why I sent that, i don't remember saying that, Wow" It's infuriating, he lies for the sake of lying. Recently he crossed the line and said to me "I've known you for 10 years, you have never given me a fair chance, at this point I'd literally pay you to have sex with me" That was it for me, that comment was degrading, rude and insulting to me. He says he isn't married and owes no one anything including his girlfriend. She remains blissfully ignorant of his cheating...despite it being obvious. I sent her screen shots of the messages/proposition he made to me. She wrote back and said "You're not going to break us up, you're just jealous" I'm not jealous, I would never date him. How can she ignore facts and defend him?
