Lately, my dog's been acting kinda funny. She's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, she's about 10 and a half (she'll be 11 in October). Last Saturday, we couldn't get her to eat, even some of her favorite foods that she NEVER says no to. She started eating a little more later on that day, so I stopped worrying about it.
But on Monday earlier this week, she slept for an unusual amount of hours. We couldn't get her to go outside until later in the afternoon (another odd bit of behavior from her since usually by then we'd have taken her out at least a couple times in the day) and when my mom was finally able to take her out, she started acting jittery so I had to come out and carry her up the stairs (we live in an apartment).
When I returned home from work later that night, my mom and brother said she was acting better. I was able to take her outside and she pooped twice (which my mom said was a good sign) and she was able to get up the stairs by herself. She was also able to eat a little. So again, I stopped worrying about it.
But since then, she's been acting weird again. She only goes outside about twice a day, she rarely eats (and when she does, it's just tiny bites) and the weirdest symptom of all...she chatters her teeth whenever she opens and closes her mouth! She's NEVER done that before.
Normally, I would only assume it's a mere sickness that will go away after enough time has passed. But her breed is only supposed to live 10 years on average.
What do you think?
