  • What business would this fall under?

    Hi Guys

I was getting pretty confused as to what business type this would fall under. Basically, I have the opportunity to use my knowledge to guide a struggling business into a brighter path. If it were to be successful and I enjoyed it (which I think I will) then I will be looking to do it more often - perhaps not investing capital into a business in exchange for shares/equity but rather investing my knowledge, ideas and strategies in exchange for small amounts of ownership. Over time if I were to be successful then theoretically I will build up my reputation and have small ownership in a variety of different firms (unless they'd rather pay for the services).

Would this be classed as consultancy?

    Thanks!

  • Options Trading Advice?

    Hi Everyone!

I'm turning 18 next month and I want to venture into the options market. I've been into investing and trading since I was 16 and I've been demo trading on and off since then; I have a foreign exchange account in my dad's name and I've not done that bad on it - I have a pretty good strategy after a lot of trial and error.

However, I feel that the foreign exchange market isn't for me anymore; it's great because of the liquidity but I don't get much excitement from it.

I don't have vasts amounts of capital either - so directly trading stocks would be difficult. This is why I feel options might be a less-riskier market for me to enter. I was planning on putting another £500 into my forex account when I turned 18 after moving it into my name but I might switch the cards around and put that into an options account, depending on the advice I get here.

So, would you say £500 is enough to trade options? (I would most likely be trading options for low priced stocks so I have the capital to purchase the stock from the option if it's profitable). What is the best broker to trade options with in the UK? Should I trade options online or do it traditionally and ring the broker up? Or Should I stick in the forex market, or both?

    Thanks, I appreciate your time!!

  • Owning Shares in a Supermarket, Filming/Ban Question?

So this is hypothetical but could easily occur

Say I owned shares in a large Supermarket and I decided to film inside of it without getting the faces of the public on film. Since I technically own part of the business, that would give me the rights to film, right?

Another question would be say there was a misunderstanding which resulted in me, the shareholder, getting banned from the store. Technically, wouldn't I, the owner, have more control and say over the business than a low-level manager, and thus could revoke the banning?

  • Difference between measuring and monitoring performance?

I'm doing some coursework and I'm stuck.

I'm already confused enough as it is but I need to know this ASAP!

What's the difference between measuring performance and monitoring it?

In terms of customer service standards, how does measuring performance help? does it help with the monitoring of the performance or the reviewing of the performance?

  • Can I complain about this?

basically I work for a very large business. Recently I've been stressed due to family issues which are getting worse and the majority of my colleagues who I liked working with have either found new places, gone off to university or are rising through the ranks and it's just me left. I put my heart and soul into the business and I always praise it outside of work, but I feel extremely mistreated at times.

I'm a student (non-uni) and my day starts at 7am from when I get up to 4pm when I get home - I'll have 2-3 hours of coursework per night due to my subjects. Technically my weekday hours total at around 60 - which is tiresome. I do all the work I can because my job practically takes up my weekend - I finish late on a saturday and start early on a sunday.

Anyway, this business has a new branch opening up soon and I requested a transfer about 5 weeks ago now - I don't like the work I do and this new branch brings new departments - departments which I am far more suited towards and that I'd be more than happy to give up my weekend for.

Not only did I hand in a letter, I also filled out forms on my preferred stores and departments (i.e. where I'd want to work).

However, I have heard absolutely nothing. nothing. I feel extremely hard-done by because I'm in that situation where I am financially independent and I need a job to function - but I don't like the one I'm doing; hence the transfer request. All the external recruiting is now done and I would have assumed the internal recruitment is done as well. I was told by other people in my branch that they have had their interviews and their places - which annoyed me even more.

Is there anyway for me to complain about this? I mean even if I heard that they were not going to interview me and I got rejected would be better than no response at all.

Also, the person who I handed my request to has now left - so I can't talk to them about it!

  • Traders on the internet piss me off?

This is a big rant and a little question...

I started trading the foreign exchange a long while back and have been live for a fair few months now. I started with £500 and I now have £1869 - this is in less than 5 months bearing in mind. About 99% of my trades win and I get the odd loss now and then - nothing major and I always build on where I went wrong.

Now for the rant, whenever I look on forums or on here, I see these pro elite internet traders going on about how hard trading is and that you should aim for 3-4% per month. 4%? 4% of £500 is £20, that wouldn't even be worth my time of day! Fair enough as I make more money I will be looking at doing less-risky trades and lowering my percentage for each month but 4%? SERIOUSLY?!

People seem to be treating it like a strategy game - sure you need a strategy but you don't have to take the tiniest risks you can; what's the point in trading?!

Trading is about making as much money as you can by taking BIG RISKS, not by being a paranoid little girl and aiming for 4% per month. I could just bet that the people who do this are the same people who clutter up their charts with indicators...completely unnecessary; 4-5 indicators is fine any more is too much and inconvenient.

I could understand Hedge Funds and big investors seeking little percentage returns because they'll still make a **** ton of money (they also have significance in the market), but if you're not apart of the elite 1%, then you gotta risk as much as you physically and emotionally can; if you're only willing to lose '1%' of your account at any one time then please do us a favour and quit trading..

Just my two cents on this matter, trading's not a game, people need to stop treating it like one

  • diet causing sleeping problems?

My mum and dad are starting to really **** me off and this is winding me up like crazy. Basically im 17 and everyday after school for about 2 hours I'll sleep, I did this back in high school and nothing has changed after transitioning into 6th form. My diet consists of carbs, protein, fruit and a load of sugary **** due to tesco being down the road. Admitidetly the sugary **** isn't helping anything and especially as I go to the gym religiously 3 times a week. Since August I've put on over a stone and I'm a fairly nice build now. Basically I come home from 6th form after the gym and I'll sleep for a few hours, till about 8pm, have food, then im wide awake. This results in me sleeping at about 2am most nights and I get up at 7am. So I only actually get 5 hours sleep in the night, and 2-3 hours in the day. Its all down to my sleeping pattern and the fact most of the time doing 8 hours of school then 2 hours physical exercise really kicks it out of me.

My dad has forced me to go to the doctors and we went, they said its due to the long days and the amount of energy that gets depleted, my dad just blames it on my diet every ******* time when it's better than most people's, I'm fed up of this **** it's really getting on my nerves. Most kids my age sleep till about 8pm at night when they come home, I've said this and they are like 'yeah but they might be tired its your diet'. I make my own dinner most nights because they eat roast dinners and such boring stuff whereas I prefer Italian food so I'll make whatever.

How can I tell my dad to stop persisting as there is clearly no problem with my diet? I have enough carbs, protein, vitamins etc. the sugary **** might make me crash but I know its down to my sleeping pattern and energy depletion levels.

  • Why do 95% of forex traders fail?

I see this 'fact' everywhere, but why? I'm 17 myself, I'm into forex trading and I had been studying it on and off since I was 15, I didn't understand it but in the past 2 months I have really gotten into it. I was pissing around on demo accounts for 1 month and kept losing, then exactly 1 month ago today I made an account and decided to be serious (demo). I had made my own little strategies and formulas, did a little bit of extra studying and knew all my terms inside and out. I haven't yet used any tool like Fibonnaci apart from that MACD trend tool, thats all!

This is my 1 month progress (in pounds £) http://postimage.org/image/d2sey3rvj/

I know in a live account i'd have psychology factors and spread costs but I'm treating this seriously with good risk/money management techniques. I didn't find it that hard to come to terms with, I tend to make 1-3 trades per day via either a scapling method or by holding a position and setting a reasonable take profit setting following a trend/in accordance to my formula.

HOW DO LOADS OF TRADERS FAIL!?!?!? It's bugging me! Thanks!

  • Will my face ever grow into a proper shape for my head?

basically over the past few years it has changed slightly and my head has evened out but my face hasn't and thus I look like I have a HUGE forehead and absolutely horrendous side profile. Some people have pointed out that my head is disproportional to my face and looking at it it really is!!

I'm 17 in a few weeks and if it is relevant then i've been in puberty for about 6 years now.

I need a haircut or just something that will boost my confidence as its been completley trashed the more I look at it

p.s. ignore the bald spots on my head haha I tried to cut my hair as it has been annoying me but that completley failed

    http://s8.postimage.org/4krbz7y39/ffs.jpg

    http://s2.postimage.org/s6fol3w15/photo.jpg

from my chin to hairline is about 7 inches; 1 inch chin to lips, 3.5 inches lips to eyebrows then 3 inch forehead -.-

google 'side profile' or similar whilst viewing the pictures, just to show that i'm not normal haha!

p.p.s I've never seen anyone with a head & face shape like this before, so my ultimate question is what hairstyles would suit me (short looks ******* retarded I must admit) and will my face grow to match my head?

  • Will I get paid this month? (Tesco)?

I had my induction on the 6th for 9 hours (got standard 9 hours pay for that) and started on the 7th (6 hours). I do 10 hours in total over the weekend and have now been there for 3 weeks. The tesco payday is on the 26th October but I have a fear that although I handed in my bank details on the 8th, I won't get paid!

I like desperately need the money haha, I jumped for joy when I got the job knowing I'd have some for my necessities, now being slumped back down knowing that I might not get paid till the 23rd November -.-

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • My bestfriend has a boyfriend, but she's starting to like me?

So basically this girl I met a couple of months ago rapidly became super close to me. We'd talk all day everyday about anything, meet up etc. And for the past few months I've had a huge crush on her, but didn't tell her due to thinking it as a best-friend relationship only. So anyway there was this other guy, who's she's now with, they've been going out for about 4 weeks now. I was shocked when I saw it on facebook as I didn't expect her to get into a relationship! So I told her how I felt. Me and her are still constantly talking and probably even closer now. She say's I'm her bestfriend out of anyone, so I just outright thought I got friendzoned. Apparently not. Because I'm still not over her, last night I asked if we could stop talking as much, she said she wanted that too, I asked why and she said 'Because believe it or not, I'm starting to really like you, and that's not good because of my boyfriend!'. Anyway, we met up today and like usual, constantly talking, pretty much giving up on the whole 'not speaking for a while' thing. I don't know what to do! The boy she's with treats her like a friend, not a girlfriend (what she tells me) and she keeps thinking about reconsidering it all! I told her I want her to be happy, and to work things out with her boyfriend. But if anyone understands, secretly I selfishly want them to break up, which is terrible, because I know she'd be better off with me.

Can anybody help me with this situation, I don't have a clue how to go about it! We're both 16, any help is incredibly appreciated, thanks!

  • I need advice, Trading, Investing, 'Entrepreneuring' all at my age?

For starters I'm 16! I do the usual business studies GCSE, A*A grade (top mark), planning on doing A levels, degrees etc. But I'm not your usual person. I LOVE business, PASSIONATE about it! I have an incredible amount of knowledge, far superior to anybody I know around my age and I want to tunnel that knowledge. However I need some advice!

Right so I've got several business ideas lined up, an event advertisement company with a great USP, an idea-trading website, clothing line like superdry, hollister etc. (cheap to make, stupidly commercialised, make loads) Teen Finance Information website etc etc I'm full of ideas!

Now I LOVE maths as well as business and I find that I really have a passion for the stock market, just the whole idea of it gets me buzzing! I've read some books and articles (Intelligent Investor, One up on wall street etc.) signed up to many different newsletters and tip websites on trading/investing. However the law states I have to be 18 to have a brokerage account, my Dad said he would set one up in his name for me, just clarifying, that is legal right?

I've done paper trading with £500 (the amount I intend to TRADE with) and made some good profits and the odd loss! After a few months I'm currently at £2750; decent profit, however it is paper trading, so is it advisable to TRADE at my age? Or Should I invest? I definitely intend to invest and get into real estate later in life, but I'm confused on what to do now!

People laugh at me and my ideas, the fact I want financial freedom and I'm trying to make it happen. But some people say I should get my hands into as many pockets as possible, should I do this?

I just don't know whether to focus on school and entrepreneurship or school, entrepreneurship AND trading/investing.

    Little advice?! Thanks!

  • Teenage Social Anxiety Problem?

I'm 16 and for some reason over the past 2 years I've become a little socially awkward. I've improved and I can talk to girls again but there are still some problems. Like if I don't know the girl or I've spoken to them like once then I find it hard to start conversations and shizzle. Then I start over thinking things and it goes into an awkward silence.

Also, with both male and females, certain people I seem to like 'stare' at when I talk to them. I don't know if you know what I mean but I like stare at their eyes when we talk and I literally can't blink, it could come across as intimidating :/

So is there any exercises/therapy I can do to solve my awkwardness?

Also could anyone list general questions that I can talk to girls about? Not about school because that comes across as really nerdy and a boring subject, plus I don't really like talking about school in social times and outside of it haha!

    Thanks!

  • how do stop getting friendzoned?

For starters, yes I am one of those nice guys who always gets friendzoned. Its super ******* annoying! I don't want a girlfriend, but I am 16, and I keep getting friendzoned quickly. My other friends don't and they end up doing stuff with girls at parties or going to the cinema on their own etc. Having fun, being players whatever! Sorry to say I would like to experience this as I cannot be ****** to wait until I'm 25 when girls want a mature, nice guy to settle down with. I want to be in on the fun as well.

Because seriously I don't know how I can't get anywhere with a girl and my friends can go all the way in a matter of weeks with one :l

So before any clever answers, I don't want a girlfriend, I want to have fun. I don't care about the consequences (yes I would use protection if I got to that stage) of 'playing' someone. Their bound to get their heartbroken more than once so I'm really not bothered, sound like a d**k I know, but I'm sick of being the nice guy and getting nowhere. I've made out with one girl, once, and we were both super drunk at a party. That lasted like 7 seconds.

Any big tips for me?! Don't tell me to stay as a nice guy, no point in writing an answer if you're gonna do that.

  • My bestfriend, my crush, is a slut, how do I get over her?

Tis gonna be a long story. My bestfriend is also my crush and she knows it and takes advantage of me because everytime I go back to her :/ She lost her virginity when she was 14 I think? But in a long relationship that ended about 9 months ago, she's 16 now. But I didn't realise some people could be so sexually frustrated. It hurts thinking about it because i'm 'madly in love with her' haha. But she goes off and does stuff with boys on weekends and it KILLS me. Me, her and this other boy were walking into town today and she was flirting like real bad with the other guy. She was wearing this small dress thing and he lifted it up and not gonna lie, I saw everything. He kept putting across the option of a threesome but I've not even lost my virginity yet so that would be a no. Anyway, I went home and he went to hers. I mean like what the hell, she's supposed to be my bestfriend and she knows I'm crazy about her, she leads me on as she got off with me the other day :l

How do I get over her? She's constantly in my head, whilst she's probably giving head, lol.

  • Torn my cruciate, can I still do track?

Long story short, 3 years ago I tore my cruciate and lateral ligaments in my left knee. Today whilst playing football, I tore the cruciate again! I know it's a long road to recovery and I'm already walking. I've decided to quit football as it's the cause of the injury. I have a passion for sprinting and running and I've always wanted to get into track. I know the rehab and healing times for my injury (8-12 weeks). I was just wondering would it be feasible to do track in the summer? Considering I am determined to get back into sports, as it's my life!

    Thanks!
