  • Travelling to US on VWP?

    Under the VWP:

    1) Is the period of 90 days supposed to be 90 consecutive days?

    2) Or can the applicant visit the US on several trips as long as the total is under 90 days? (but the days are spread out during a period of 4 months).

  • Switching phones on Fido network?

I'm on prepaid with Fido. Will I be able to remove the sim card from my current phone and place it in a new phone?

Does the new phone have to be purchased from Fido or can it just be any unlocked phone? For example, flea markets seem to have good deals for phones but I'm not sure it would work.

  • AFDA vs. Credit losses?

Is the allowance for doubtful accounts the same thing as credit losses? How would I calculate the bad debt rate if I'm not given a percentage? I need this information to calculate the bad debt expense.

    Thank you.

  • Suspended Telus account?

My Telus contract of 3 years was over so I decided to cancel my account to go with Virgin Mobile. My Telus account was cancelled today, so I go buy a new phone at Virgin, and apparently I can't transfer my number from Telus because that account is inactive.

I just got an email from Virgin saying I have to reactivate my Telus account in order to transfer my number.

What does this even mean? I don't know what to do because I'd like to keep my number but I doubt Telus will reactivate my account just so I can switch to another company...

  • Dell upgrade to Windows 7?

[This is based on the Dell Canada site] I'm planning on buying a Dell laptop from their site within the next week. They have an offer that says once Windows 7 is released, those who have an eligible Dell laptop get a free upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.

I would like to know which laptops are eligible for this upgrade. Specifically, is the New Inspiron 15 listed at $599 on the site eligible for the upgrade?

  • 3-year contract with Telus?

My 3-year cellphone contract with Telus expires in October. I would like to know what happens after it expires? Do I receive store credit? Do they give me a new phone?

In case the answer depends on what phone I currently have, I have the LG 8100, which is pretty outdated and would like to change once my contract ends.

    Thanks!

  • Ethanol fuel in Brazil?

How does the production of ethanol fuel in Brazil through sugar canes affect the food prices and the Brazil economy?

Is ethanol 'good'? I have read that the waste coming from sugar canes in renewable, so that's good, and it doesn't release as much greenhouse gases. But on the other hand, it causes deforestation and other issues. So is it mostly a good method for fuel or bad?

  • Pokemon Silver: Restart or try to continue?

I'm feeling a little nostalgic and decided to play Pokemon again. I already have part of the game saved which I started 3 years ago and I got quite far but I realized I'm missing a bunch of items from past cities and I'm stuck. Should I try to continue or restart the whole game and do it step by step? Also, how long does it actually take to beat Pokemon Silver?

  • Enable JavaScript to view content?

I'm trying to use an online anonymous proxy to watch TV shows on an American network. It says I must "enable JavaScript to view this content". But when I go to the Mozilla Firefox options, it clearly says it is already enabled. Some insight, please?

  • Average value of a function?

I'm having trouble solving the 'average value of a function' for these two functions:

    1) F(x) = e ^ -x

    over the interval [0,4]

    2) F(x) = xe ^ x squared

    over the interval [0,2]

I already have the answers, I would just like a brief explanation on how to get to the answer. I always have difficulty with problems involving "e", so any explanation would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks. :)

  • Song played on Canadian Idol last night?

I'm wondering if anyone knows a specific song that was played last night (June 9th) on Canadian Idol during the show. It was played right before 321 - Hedley. It started off with "uh oh uh oh oh" and it was similar to Hedley's style of music. Anyone know it? (It's not a song that a contestant sang, it was randomly during the show). Sorry, that's all I know; I didn't hear the lyrics!

  • Hockey: A People's History on CBC?

I missed the whole documentary when it was on a year ago (?) and would love to watch it since hockey is my passion. However, I can't go out to buy it right now because it is over 70$ I think, so is there any way I can recap it on the internet? Thanks, I would really appreciate it.

  • Should I take the risk and cut my hair?

I have dark brown, long, wavy-ish hair. My ends are getting dry so I already know I should get a trim. I just want a new hairstyle all together. Also, I want a hairstyle that will make me look older/more mature. Any ideas?

  • Upper ear/cartilidge piercing?

I had my cartilidge pierced about 2 years ago. I didn't wear an earring in it for the past 4 months I would say. Today, I tried to put an earring back on. Although it was a little hard to get it through the hole, I managed to do it. However, is it normal to get a little bump that is a little hard at the back of the hole? Will it go away once it gets used to the earring again?

  • Long, dark brown, wavy hair - new style?

I have naturally dark brown hair (almost black) and the length is half way down my back. It is also naturally wavy. I'd appreciate your opinions on whether I should cut my hair or trim it or keep it the way it is. Also, what hairstyles would look nice if I decide to cut it? Pictures/links would help A LOT. Thanks. :)
