My interests are: People and nature. Giving good advice from a wealth of experience. Painting and music. Languages and cultures. Singing. Yoga and contemplation. Lovely things -- but not too many -- what's the point? Compulsive poetry writing. Good old movies. Entertaining in our home. And I really like being in the kitchen - any kitchen, from hovel to hotel!

Are the years a learning culmination that we are just struggling to fight the inevitable sweet sleep?
I am now 45 and have had a very interesting and unique life. I expect another 45 years (which I never expected), and [yet] more and more I get these little epiphanies: that what we experience as life and its stages is the largest metaphor for the struggle to fight something that you can't fight - that you should just relax and accept defeat, that the defeat isn't terrible. Life is a series of grand rebellions and confrontations, that letting go of things that hold you back and things that you may never be. We smile in stages of acceptance of this wisdom and tend toward an increasingly softer approach to it all: relationships, success, fear, truth...
What do you all think? Thank you.6 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade ago
