http://yasminjenkins.blogspot.com/ I'm a sixteen-year-old girl who likes to write. There are stories of various genres on my hard-drive, because it's good to have a choice. Favourite book is either Harry Potter or Maximum Ride. Anime is my l-o-v-e. One Piece is awesome :)
I ve always been a bookworm. I remember when I was younger it was very easy to find a book I would love. Nowadays I find myself buying books and getting bored within the first five pages. Unoriginal plots, annoying characters and clunky narratives and such. Maybe I m just getting older and grumpier, but I really want to find a book that I m not going to want to put down, like I used to.
Some books that I love are:
Harry Potter (an obvious answer)
Ones by Cassandra Clare
Cornelia Funke s children books
Morganville Vampire series (I m getting sick of vampires though)
To Kill a Mockingbird
His Dark Materials
and many more. I love fantasy mainly but I m open to anything at this point. Any suggestions would be welcome :)2 AnswersBooks & Authors3 years ago
It's that time again :|
He's a blond English rich boy who wants to be a lawyer. So far he's been called Oliver, but I don't really feel like it fits him any more. The main character is called Julia (I don't really like that name, but it jumped into my head and refused to leave) with the nickname Jude. She is his family's assistant housekeeper.
His last name is Kensington-Wells (I told you he was posh)

I turn nineteen tomorrow and I want to move out during the next year (into a flat) and my parents (step-dad in particular) keep saying that it would be cruel for me to get a dog as there won't be enough room for it. I've heard (and seen) people keep GSDs and even Great Danes in smaller flats than the one I'm looking at.
They also have a problem with me working full-time whilst having a dog, but my hours are from 2 pm until 10 pm and my sister's school is only twenty minutes walk away. She'll keep the dog company from about 3:30 pm until 5 or 6, feed him and take him on a walk.
I also have three cats that have never lived with a dog before but if I didn't think I could handle it then I wouldn't even entertain the idea.
I'm thinking about waiting until around Xmas next year before actually going to a Rescue Centre and adopting one and by that time I should have saved up enough money so that any unexpected expenses wouldn't cripple me.
Do you think I should give up on getting a dog?6 AnswersDogs7 years ago
I got a character who needs to be named. She's 16-17, brown hair, green eyes, pretty average. She's very confident, says exactly what she thinks, kind of spoilt/snobbish, an only child. I am currently drawing a blank on any possible names. Any suggestions?9 AnswersBaby Names8 years ago
So far I've bounced around Angel, Alexander, Joseph, Seth and Matthew. It's for a character who's tall and sporty with broad shoulders, with blond wavy hair and murky green eyes. He's outgoing and kind of brash around people, but can be a sweetheart around the one he loves.
He needs a good name and I haven't quite found it yet :(13 AnswersBaby Names8 years ago
She's about 16 and she's supernaturally good with animals. She lives in a forest and is outdoorsy. She has an arctic wolf named Soul.
She's got dark brown hair, bright blue eyes and pale skin. She's the oldest out of five.
She's been called Rika and Saya (and I'm still considering those names) but I'm hoping to find a name that clicks.
So, can you help me?5 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years ago
Magdalena Christobel. Her nn would be Meg.
It's for a fictional character (my main character has three sets of twins, and the last girl name has been driving me mad).
Alternatively I wanted Honour, but I really like the sound of Magdalena.

Right now his name is "Bronson", but I have this sinking feeling it's not going to fit him.
He's 17 and cursed. He used to be a nerd but he's toughened up because of said curse. He hates his glasses and chooses to wear contacts instead. He has tanned skin and brown hair and eyes. Most people would describe him as "warm". He worked illegally in a tattoo parlour from when he was fourteen to when he was sixteen. He's a very talented artist. He has an older sister named Olivia (Livi) and an older brother named Dragon.

I've got a new story going on and character-naming is always a pain. :)
So far I definitely know that the main character is a telepath named Calla. I got her siblings:
None of those are set in stone, so I can change them if you're all like "ew!" or "hey, that sounds like ____."
My problem is I can't decide on a name for the male lead. So far I've got "Bronson" but I'm not sure whether it's a good name to use. He's a cursed nerd-gone-bad :)

My fingers were long pale beams of light, tapping melodically against the wood of my cot. How long had I been here? I couldn't remember. I was having difficulty remembering anything at all. All I knew right then was that the warmth at the back of my head wasn't just warmth – it was the echo of pain.
My fingers were fascinating to me. They were decorated with rough, uneven discolourations. My head wound throbbed and the correct word floated into my head: scars. That's what they were. The marks left over from old wounds.
With a sigh, I sat up. My thin, uncomfortable mattress didn't even have enough spring in it to creak. It just laid over the hard wooden base of my cot.
The pressure in my head had a quite obvious reason: a huge plank of...wood. It took me a second to recognise it for what it was. My memories were all...stifled, like I was searching for them through a dark veil that got tangled in my fingers.
The wood had been laid just behind my head, just a few millimetres away from where my skull had just been. I guessed that was what had woken me up in the first place. I’d felt a blinding pain, numbing me completely. It had eased off now, but I still felt the ghost of tingles in my fingertips.
I slid one leg from beneath the thin material that covered me. What was the word I was looking for? Blanket? For some reason, the word didn't taste quite right on my tongue. Blanket was sort of the right word, but it wasn't completely right. It didn't hold enough gravity.
My other leg joined its friend, laying my feet flat out on the ground. I was still wearing my shoes, though I couldn't remember putting them on. If I didn't feel them, I could have sworn that the feet weren't even mine. I didn't remember having such long slender legs. Well, to be honest, I couldn't seem to remember having any legs at all.
I frowned, prodding gingerly into my mind. I remembered...red. Red and—
Hot pain shocked into my eyes. I screamed, shocked at the suddenness of it. I rubbed at my eyelids, my hands icy cold against the heat of them. I rocked. Nausea settled in my stomach.
After a second, the pain faded. I licked my dry lips. It didn't help much, since my tongue was just as...ugh! What's the word?2 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years ago
I don't really like the name Olivia, but whatever. I have a character I want to name Livia, but people keep telling me it sounds like a nickname. Should I call her Olivia and just use Livia as her nickname or simply keep her name as Livia? She has a twin called Kelda.12 AnswersBaby Names9 years ago
