  • Why does Christianity ...a) make sense, or b) not make sense to you?

Hi there, Thought it was time for a 'free for all', a time to really get your 'teeth' into this if you want. Obviously it's open to all. I PROBABLY will choose the best 'a)' answer since that is my bias. BUT if all the 'a)' answers are *** and yours is !!! then I'll give you B.A. if yours is #1. ... show more

I PROBABLY will choose the best 'a)' answer since that is my bias. BUT if all the 'a)' answers are *** and yours is !!! then I'll give you B.A. if yours is #1. correct based on what I know #2. explained respectfully. And if Christians put this clearly, that will be great too. So, if you could start with... a) Christianity makes sense ...BECAUSE or, b) Christianity does NOT make sense BECAUSE... that would put your position clearly, then your points clearly. I suggest those '3 points' to be enough for either side...(too long to read otherwise). ...

  • Give me an example of science which does not have the scientific method applied to it?

Before anyone suggests I should be asking this in the science section, it is asked here because it is a claim made because of religious beliefs (in an attempt to discredit science). An example is Raissa's answer here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?... @'Truth': The evidence supporting evolution gets stronger all the time - NONE of it has been 'debunked'. @'Ford Prefect': Where's your imagination? ;o) @'Statick': The question is aimed at people who frequent this section, not scientists/those who actually follow science. @'Pull my finger': Why would I consider you to be an idiot? Seems like you gave a reasonable answer. @'Arnie': Don't you have something better to do with your time than copy and paste rubbish which has nothing to do with the questions you post it on? @'CRR': The idea that 'origins' are somehow investigated differently from any other science is a creationist straw man. @'Nosson': Completely incorrect. While things like penicillin and x-rays may be first discovered by accident, it is the subsequent investigation that makes them scientific discoveries - how something is first noticed is not important.

  • Where would you meet gay or bisexual men?

I always hear people say "Going to a gay bar for a relationship is a bad idea cause all the people there just want sex/one night stands." If that's true, then where else could a gay or bisexual man go to meet a male who wants a relationship?

  • Christians, why is it that obesity is "genetic" but homosexuality is "a choice" to you?

Seems to me you're making excuses for not exercising and scarfing down more doughnuts. But hey, maybe you have an actual explanation for this, I'd love to hear it. "Being homosexual is not inherited by birth - there are no DNA markers that show a tendency towards homosexuality." They sure grow em dumb in that neck of the woods... show more

"Being homosexual is not inherited by birth - there are no DNA markers that show a tendency towards homosexuality." They sure grow em dumb in that neck of the woods huh? In fact, several genetic studies have shown conclusively that gay men and lesbian women's brains ARE wired differently and that it stems directly from genetic markers. See? Science trumps stupidity like yours EVERY time.

I moved to a new city about three months ago, and immediately got into a relationship. I ended that yesterday, now I need to make friends and I'm not so interested in dating. There are no social organizations here, and I am hesitant to go to the bars, that's where my ex is going to be hanging out 24/7 now that he's single...I'm trying to avoid drama. Advice?

This way, when we get answers that are so incredibly stupid, we can flag them to be laughed at, as well as the poster losing 10+ points. Not only would this throw bad posters into the negative so they couldn't be as active, it would discourage people from answering with nonsense so often. I think it would be a great way to clean this place up. We could still troll, just have to be a little more tactful about it. And when being chased by the Worst Answer Demon, you don't have to out-troll everyone. Just the worst troll there.

They don't really want to just use their names because they feel it's a bit informal, so has anyone got any advice or has been in a similar situation?
