• If this is an illusion and we are dreaming our way through it, then from that perspective how would you?

describe dreamless sleep? Okay.... what I am trying to ask is if we are dreaming this illusion while asleep which is the same as walking around wide awake, then what would dreamless sleep be?

All the conservative medis use the term 'liberals' as if it meant 'socialiist.' Here is a definition of liberalism from the "Quotationary" , a massive volume of quotes from prominent individuals: "It is the duty of the liberal to protect and to extend the basic democratic freedoms. But fundamentally, liberalism is anattitude. The characteristics of that attitude are human sympathy, a receptivity to change and a scientific willingness to folllow reason rather than faith or any fixed set of ideas." Your opinions? Said by: Chester Bowles in"The New Republic." Progressives are not taking over Liberals. The writer doesn't seem to remember that in 1900 we had at least two Socialist states, to wit Kansas and Wisconsin. In the 1908 presidential election EuGene Debs got some 3 million votes representing the Socialists. The Progressives have always been a mixed bag. The progressive but racist Women's movement joined forces with Evangelicals (whom they otherwise despised) to work together on getting the vote for women and for complete and constitutional prohibition of alcoholic beverages. Progressives were able to eliminate debtor's prison, they got better treatment for the insane, and by popular pressure got the FDA created to protect consumers from fraudulent and posionous products. Harry Truman, except for the issue of race (although he did order the military desegregated), was much more liberal than Obama, and Nixon was more liberal than the Republicans of today This is what I mean about lies! James, the government has been growing ever since the first Congress met. It was the Civil War that united the country in a way that was very unpleasat to the losers. Those losers are still complaining about the Civil War. Everybody in the media seems to be confused about the Progressives. Teddy Roosevelt was a Progressive and he was very far from being a socialist. Yet it was he who put into place anti-cartel legislation and anti-monopoly legislation. Oh, the howls of the businessmen! If you think this is rot please show me where the rot is. Present Liberalism came right from FDR, who couldn't have been clearer about his goals and principles. This liberalism lost its connection to Progressivism during the '50's. When Lynden Johnson put into place National Public Radio no one howled about socialism. The same thing with his Great Society program. They accused him of being a n-lover, but not a socialist. I think one reason conservatives and Republicans dislike liberalism is because they

I understand why I love children so much and the elderly because they are not caught up in themselves. I have been so miserable not being able to find someone I could run on a hillside with, jump on a trampoline, walk through a beautiful garden, share a sunset with. I am worn out by the illusion of the "seriousness" of life with responsibilities, worry and anxiety. No one wants to play. It seems I am a magnet for those who desire the light of my inner child, but they cannot allow their own inner child to come out. I love you guys so much! You do understand! Night time is a great time to play...this is when I enjoy playing on the internet or painting or writing. You are all invited to come play anytime! I am running with you right now on the beach Just Be goes Goth....hehehehe. I can feel the waves splashing up against my chest as I lurch against the mighty and salty waves. The sun is beaming down warming my shoulders. (((hugs))) Dances...I love the Sacred Mud Puddle..where angels hide their faces...how beautiful to share! Thank you for being here so long for so many of us who need answers. I am grateful for all of you! ((((<I>))))

It is a quote that is attributed to Carl Jung, but that does not have a definite source. Please...be as creative as you want, relate this to whatever you want, explain any experiences that come to mind any way you like. Not stupid Messimee!!! As Ross says, learning :)

If one is caught up in the present moment, what would it mean to "stay" there? I was reading in a book by Pema Chodron how people have these peak experiences and get attached to them, and even on the mundane level that's why some people go from one relationship to the next because they want the buzz of first encounter, the chemistry that some say lasts two years at most, but when that wears off they want to get back THERE. Those mind blowing experiences are very addictive, but very beneficial so long as we don't attach to them. This is one of three types of things we use to escape the struggle or boredom of the present, the obvious one being comfort activities and the other being the beliefs we hold above us to give us certainty. To break all three, "Stay compassionate in the present moment"...stay means don't deny yourself, compassionate means don't deny others and present moment don't deny now looking back or looking forward. If you look forward to things they end up being more disappointing than if you hold no expectations and let them surprise you. The art is to not judge experiences as good or bad but keep going. The magic of the heart is not some altered state of mind...in fact it is very ORDINARY. But right now in this moment if you are escaping this moment, then what is it you should be staying with?

I know guess people are sincere... Perhaps what it boils down to is that people are human and will always disappoint as long as we continue to set our hopes too high. I hate when I make typos on stuff I can't edit. Where I said, "I know guess people are sincere," I meant to say, "I guess SOME people are sincere." Thanks for the star "Love". I know I'm wrong on this one. It's just how I feel sometimes. I guess we all have hard times. :-)
