Obviously the United States has a capitalist health care system, with medicare and medicaid for seniors and those below the poverty threshold. At the same time Canada has a single payer system, which pretty much means Medicare for everyone. In the USA I've heard people vehemently oppose universal health care, people will cry that it will lower quality, raise taxes, etc. There are also certainly those in America that would be fine with universal health coverage like in Canada. So Canadians, what are your thoughts on the American health care system? Do you think that it would be in the best interests of America to implement a single payer system? Also what do you think of the arguement that people who have worked hard to earn their money shouldn't be required to pay for the health care of others? Thanks for your responses.

What should I do?

Might the Egyptians prefer to just give the finger to the US, as opposed to what Mubarak has been doing? So I want to know how anyone can call Obama a communist & think it is anywhere near appropriate &/or accurate. Has anyone actually bothered to study communism, or at least the people that are throwing the term around? @ Rachael, you realize you're trying to pass that off onto someone with a masters in Communist movements in the 20th century. I've actually read A LOT about communism. @JB which American politician signed the order to have Charles Horman killed, when, where, & why? You answer that for me & I'll burn my degrees & resign from academic life. @DesiredC... Your yale is showing. Swap "private property" for "natural resources & means of production" & I'd give you top marks. But it is an essential difference. @Flower: Agreed, Yahoo Answers is the best source for non-official polling that has ever been invented.
