I have always encouraged my son to eat what I serve and healthy food and now my son is asking for cereal and junk food because my boyfriends son is allowed to have it. How do I explain to my boyfriend that he shouldn't be doing this without sounding nasty and like I'm trying to take over. I want both of our sons to learn health eating habits and be healthy.

Hello to any experienced chefs who are reading this now. My story is that I am working in a small gastropub just outside of London And I have been here for over a year now and I applied as a commis chef but to realise that I am responsible for everything to do with this kitchen from stock takes to ordering, audit counts. I prepare the Misa en place wash the dishes clean the equipments change the oils ect. I have another guy working with me too but we only have Friday, sat and Sunday togther and other days we are by our selves cooking many people. We don't have a KP due to budget cuts so the dishes are ons us too I get paid 8ph with 38 hours per week. The only thing keeping me here is the accommodation, I love being a chef and but I can't make a plate taste good and look good while I am preparing food for 6 to 8 people bymyself and expect to send the orders out within 15 minutes. it kind of kills me inside that i have to send out a plate looking like crap. I get the idea that this place is holding me back. I just wanted to know has any chefs out there been through this and if a company can actually get away with having one chef on a shift doing everything. Thank you for Reading.

Anyway, in walks this couple with no kids dressed to the nines. The seater tried to sit them next to our table and the tables were very close together. The baby started fussing a little bit and grabbed the table cloth of the other table. Then the woman said loud enough for us to hear that she didn't come out to be bombarded by kids as she was around them all week and would wait for a different table. Was this rude of her?

How can I request this document as it should be kept in my records? apologies for the lack of details...I am talking about a denial for application of employment, so NO, I am not employed there. Here's the entire story: I signed the job offer, then the background check on my education level (equivalence from another country) was the reason why the HR denied my application initially. BUT, I provided the evidence that the information from the report of the background check was inaccurate, with solid information from my Consulate, etc. The Background check agency a agreed that their report was inaccurate and modified it and resubmitted it to the HR. HR called me to confirm that they were still denying my application for other reasons. However, they stated these reasons over the phone and seem to refuse to provide me with a formal Adverse Letter (like the 1st one I received) stating the reasons of the denial, this time. So, my question is : am I entitled to request this updated decision in writings?

I agree a burka has no place in a court, but would those happy to ban the burka be happy to ban all face covering in public? Including Anonymous masks and other protesters covering their faces?

Why didn't he admit it when the questions were being asked? How many New Labour supporters are now out of work or on low wages due to Blair, Brown and Mandelson? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-... Patch, yes they were. Southern Ireland never really recovered from the potato famine and the loss of lives then plus the subsequent emigration to the UK and America by the young so jobs were mainly in rural farming districts. It's not much better over there now that the Celtic Tiger had its' tail pulled off and the building boom collapsed but this time more and more young emigrants are heading for Australia. Southern Ireland has immigrants from all over Europe. Andy, I am sane and have been involved in politics for a long time, Mandelson is in trouble right up to his arm-pits and when his type get their collars felt they always squeal. Nasty little toad isn't he? Erskine, my fear is that this stupid onslaught of multiculturalism will lead to something approaching the rise of Naziism. We are becoming less tolerant simply because we are being attacked from all sides of politics and told we're racist. Some people are but the majority just want THEIR country back to what it was before BLAIR! Andrew - are you seriously suggesting that the left wing labourite BBC should have shown this???????

At my work place there is currently a few members of staff that behave as if the office is their second home, They have been there the longest, food is left in the drawers, shoes are left under the desk. There are 11 members of staff. 3 of them have been there for a very long time. There are only 4 pcs available but they have been claimed by those 3 workers who have been there the longest. So it's difficult to get work done as they are constantly logged on and the rest of us have to ask if we can use the pcs. There was an incident yesterday where 1 of the staff members was upset because apparently somebody did something to "her" desk. And she walked around saying how she would not "share this office with anyone anymore". Her behaviour was very territorial. I was thinking that I could spend as less time in the office as possible. And keep my personal belongings with me at all times, I really don't like the attitude of the workers who have been there longer. And I'd rather spend as less time amongst them as possible. Any suggestions on how to deal with coworkers/or a situation like this?

Well, people often move put of countries to seek a better life... Or to have it better. Although some of these people maybe haven't got what it takes to make their country better, I mean it needs brains and skills and passion right... And sometimes money. But I bet some do, or would if they didnt immigrate off somewhere else, leaving the remaining people in their country to sort it out. So if some actually stayed and tried to make their own country a better place, wouldnt their country improve faster? I'm not against immigration. I think if someone works hard and wants integrate into a society they should be welcomed. I also realise that if you could get out of a dangerous country, you'd of course rather leve than stay whatever happens.. I would. But I guess I'm talking more about safeish countries. I don't know. This is just a thought I had... What do you think? @Proud Infidel - You didn't really answer my question, but I agree with you. People are denying it, but Muslims are spreading and slowly becoming a bigger and bigger % of European countries populations. 1 in 10 French people are Muslim. 1/4 of one of Sweden's cities is Muslim. I wouldn't mind if majority of them integrated, but here in the UK you get no go areas of all Muslims. They are no go areas because it feels like you are in a different country, and sometimes if you aren't wearing a head scarf people will attack you. There are videos on youtube. So, is this the "multiculturalism" everyone keeps going on about? Cause I really don't see it. You come to the UK, you integrate. Sure keep your beliefs, but why should we let you (e.g.) wear a burka when that is totally against what our society is about. They aren't even compulsory in Muslim religion. If you vote for Labour you are basically voting for Muslims to make Britain Muslim. 30% of Muslims want the UK to be Sharia law. Yeah maybe 70% don't, but we should deport the 30%. 30% is still a lot. They don't integrate & they will change our culture. If Britain becomes majority Muslim, do you honestly think they will keep our Churches, our historical buildings and look at them as important indicators of British history? No, of course they won't. They just make them into Mosques. Is that what people want??

A man called (3am in the morning) and wanted four rooms for his wife, and his three girlfriends. He was yelling and sounded drunk from the start. He wanted me to make sure they wouldn't run into each other!!! I didn't specifically turn him away, I told him I couldn't promise him that. I suggested that he go to a different hotel. We only have three floors, so I emphasized on the fact that we would have to have some of them sharing a floor. And I emphasized that our hotel was small, and all indoor. I basically turned him away, without turning him away. He was so mad at me though, and threatened to call my boss... Is my job in jeopardy? When is it okay to actually explicitly turn someone away though? Is it ever OK?
