The idea is for some very basic childrens books that I can use here in China to teach English. Im a primary school teacher in Australia, but frankly I have completely forgotten my favourite books from when I was a substitute teacher in the very low grades.
My students in China are 5-11 years old. The grammar content is ESL/TESOL level... basic stuff. Numbers, colours, I like, this is, that is, going, coming, being, big/small, prepositions, and so on.
I have chosen some very classic books such as The Hungry Caterpillar, and a few Dr Seuss ones for phonics study.
Really though, I need a lot more. The best would be the kind that have very stimulating pictures and limited but repetitive text.
I don't have access to any bookshops with high-quality books here, so I am relying upon your help to make a list that I can hunt for when I return to Australia for Christmas.
Thanks so much everybody.
