Metzger, professor of New Testament at Princeton University, calls the NWT "a frightful mistranslation," "Erroneous" and "pernicious" "reprehensible" "If the Jehovah's Witnesses take this translation seriously, they are polytheists." (Professor of New Testament Language and Literature) Dr. William Barclay, a leading Greek scholar, said "it is abundantly clear that a sect which can translate the New Testament like that is intellectually dishonest." British scholar H.H. Rowley stated, "From beginning to end this volume is a shining example of how the Bible should not be translated." "Well, as a backdrop, I was disturbed because they (Watchtower) had misquoted me in support of their translation." (These words were excerpted from the tape, "Martin and Julius Mantey on The New World Translation", Mantey is quoted on pages 1158-1159 of the Kingdom interlinear Translation) Dr. Julius Mantey , author of A Manual Grammar of the Greek New Testament, calls the NWT "a shocking mistranslation." "Obsolete and incorrect." "It is neither scholarly nor reasonable to translate John 1:1 'The Word was a god.'" "I have never read any New Testament so badly translated as The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of The Greek Scriptures.... it is a distortion of the New Testament. The translators used what J.B. Rotherham had translated in 1893, in modern speech, and changed the readings in scores of passages to state what Jehovah's Witnesses believe and teach. That is a distortion not a translation." (Julius Mantey , Depth Exploration in The New Testament (N.Y.: Vantage Pres, 1980), pp.136-137) the translators of the NWT are "diabolical deceivers." Best answer: hi there can you show me the unique "food at the proper time" that only the watchtower was dispensing in 1919 for the "faithful and discreet slave" appointment? the watchtower claims that they are the sole communication channel between god and man. they are gods organization, and were appointed to be the "faithful and discreet slave" spoken of by jesus. this is because of their 1914 doctrine, where jesus returned invisibly and began ruling from heaven in 1914. he then inspected all religions, rejected everyone else, and appointed the watchtower because they alone had "food at the proper time". this is an objectively verifiable claim. to find out if it is true you only need to look at what they were preaching in 1919. but strangely, if you ask them for it, instead of whipping it out and proving how truthful it is, you will get a story about "new light". this is their doctrine where old teachings are replaced with new ones. you will never get this "food" from them. they try to hide it. here it is, from their book "The Finished Mystery" from 1917. read it and you will see why they hide it and try to divert you from seeing it yourself. ask yourself - would jesus approve these teachings as truth? 88 "proofs" that Christ's "Second Advent occurred in the Fall of 1874" (pp.68-71) The remaining Anointed would all be taken from earth to heaven in the spring of 1918. (p.64) "Also, in the year 1918, when God destroys the churches wholesale and the church members by millions...." (p.485) "Even the republics will disappear in the fall of 1920....Every kingdom of Earth will pass away, be swallowed up in anarchy." (p.258) The rider on the white horse in Revelation 6:2 is "the Bishop of Rome, the embryo Pope, the personal representative of Satan" (p.106) Michael the Archangel is the pope of Rome. (p.188) "Leviathan" of Job 41:2-19 is a locomotive. (p.85) "The chariots rage in the streets, they jostle one another" of Natham 2:4 are the clanking and the bumping of railway cars. (p.93) The "valiant men" of Nathum 2:3 are an engineer and a fireman. (p.93) Demons will invade the minds of churchgoers in 1918, leading to their destruction. (p.128) "Behemoth" of Job 40:15-24 is a stationary steam engine. (p.84) The "voice from heaven" of Revelation 18:4 is the voice of The Watchtower Society. (p.276) The glory of the angel of Revelation 18:1 refers to modern discoveries such as correspondence schools, celluloid, Divine Plan of the Ages, talking machines, vacuum cleaners, induction motors, pasteurization, Panama Canal, shoe sewing machines, subways, skyscrapers, Roentgen rays. (p.273) Revelation 14:20 predicted the precise distance from the place where The Finished Mystery was produced in Stranton, Pennsylvania to its shipping destination in Bethel in New York City (p. 230) https://archive.org/details/TheFinishedM... as you can see, none of their unique teachings of the time are true. this means their current teaching about being the "faithful and discreet slave" is also not true. but you will have to believe this teaching to be a jw. you will have to believe a lie. it is better to simply stick with the bible and not an organization that fights it. go ahead, please ask this question and see what the response is. i'll bet it will be the same as when i asked.

Best answer: hi there yes obviously they must call whatever their handlers print in a watchtower magazine TRUTH whether it is true or not. furthermore anyone that doesn't accept the TRUTH must be fought, maligned and condemned to annihilation at Armageddon. examples. prior to 2010 all jws had to defend their "generation" teaching. after 2010 they have to defend the "overlapper" teaching. both are wrong since 607 is wrong and no new definition of overlapper will fix it. prior to 2013 all jws had to call TRUTH the teaching that the watchtower was appointed over all Jesus' belongings while Christians told them it cannot be true. now they all have to agree with Christians that they never were. and it deeply pains them not one single one has been able to admit that Christians were right and their watchtower was telling them bovine excrement. if the watchtower tells them they are the "faithful and discreet slave" it must be true since they are the "faithful and discreet slave". the slave cannot be wrong since they are the slave. and Christians cannot be right since they are Trinitarians and don't follow the slave and so even if they are right they cannot be right because only the slave is right even when they're wrong. make sense. not to me. just ask call me yrag. he knows for sure that Christians were right about the fds appointment, and the watchtower was lying. but never ever will the truth be found in him.
