Websites are written in HTML An example of HTML is <span>Some Text</span> This outputs in a browser as simply, "Some Text" <span></span> tells the browser that this is a bit in the middle is text. ASP.NET is also used to write web sites and is a language written by Microsoft. ASP.NET allows you to write extensive code and logic on the server that determines what any web page looks like. For example: If (UserName = "Steve") { output="<span>Hello, Steve</span>" } Else { output = "<span>Hello</span>" } Ultimately, ASP.NET spits out HTML based on the logic you build. This is far from a comprehensive answer, just a starter for 10. Many developers will sneer at my answer. But I am a developer and use ASP.NET. This is my explanation for a 5 year old ;-)

Hope this helps. Steve. PS Make sure you have word per line :-)

  • Gaming Desktop PC for £700 - £800?

Best answer: Go to the Aria website (they're based in Manchester) If you know what you're looking for, you can get the components you want and build it yourself. If not (and if you don't want to build it) give them a call for some free advice and a fantastic build and ship service.

  • Can you build a garage using 1000 standard house bricks? Can somebody also measure a house brick? :)?

Best answer: A standard house brick is approximately 215mm × 102.5mm × 65mm And assuming mortar width of 100m... 1000 bricks have a total approximate length of 225 metres In the UK a "minimum" garage size is 3m x 5m (although 6 is recommended) so the total wall length is approximately 16 metres - but let's ignore 2 metres for the... show more

For simplicity let's forget that we only have to account for end bricking on two of the walls (because the other two share the corners), that means that you would have enough for 16 runs of brick. At a brick + mortar height of 75mm per brick that makes your walls about 1.2m high. So in short, you need about 2000 (to account for breakages etc... PS That's for a single brick depth wall of course :-)

  • Getting about 15 old PC's. What to do with them?

Best answer: Last year, I have about 20 old PCs at home and I was quite excited about what I could possibly do with them. Unfortunately, very little was the answer. This totally depends on how old they are, but if we're talking 5-10 years old then even binning them is going to be difficult as recyclying centres won't take them for free. If... show more

This totally depends on how old they are, but if we're talking 5-10 years old then even binning them is going to be difficult as recyclying centres won't take them for free. If they're more modern then you may have a chance. If you're going for a media centre - try installing Plex. I use it all the time and I can watch movies wherever I am in the world - or of course on my TV at home ;-)

Smokers experience as much stress as everyone else, but this is only increased by the absence of nicotine once you are addicted. And all smoking does is bring you back to the stress levels of the non smokers around you. Don't start or your next post will be how do I stop. S stupidly started at the age of 27 and now at 39 I'm struggling to stop even with the aid of e-Cigs. e-Cigs are just as addictive (if not more so) as they're easier to smoke (indoors etc...) that is, until the government changes the legislation - which they undoubtedly will!
