Best answer: Great answer, Anonymous! I am a Christian and I am not "homophobic". I used to work as a Registered Nurse on psychiatric units in hospitals. I know quite well that the accurate meaning of the word, homophobic is fear of homosexuals. I am not afraid of homosexuals. I also know that the term, homophobic, is a term used by those who want to belittle those of us who would like to have an open and honest discussion of the issue. It is clear to me that "same-gender sexual attraction" is caused by an alteration in the normal father-son or mother-daughter gender identification in the psysycho-sexual maturation process. It is sad to me that societies denial of this fact causes more people to have this disorder. It is also sad to me that the psychologists and psychiatrists of this country, because of their lack of success in treating this disorder, decided to try to help people with this problem by doing a "political fix". By that, l mean that since the could not cure the problem, they decided to call the condition, "normal", hoping thereby to remove the problem's stigma but preventing the people with the problem from getting help. I hope that my answer helps someone if they have taken the trime and trouble to read this. Obviously I have taken considerable time and trouble to write this, because I care about you and because Jesus loves you.

  • WHY is it so hard for Christians to admit that Mary was a life-long virgin?

Best answer: It is not hard for Christians to admit that Mary was a life-long virgin. Most, if not all, Catholic Christians admit that. It is only Protestants, who call themselves Christians (but are they?) who have trouble with that.

Jesus said, "Why do you fear those who can kill the body and then do you no more harm.." Who are you going to believe? An Atheist Scientist who says that only physical matter exists or will you believe God's Son, Jesus? Come on, I know too much science to believe an Atheist scientist over Jesus. I am 73 y/o and have 6 years of college courses most of them in science. I worked for 20 years as a Registered Nurse on psychiatric units in hospitals. If Jesus says one thing and a scientist says the opposite. I will believe Jesus any day of the week.

Best answer: This is my opinion. If you use the Vedic Astrological Profile as a "matrix" or as a "form" through which you look at your Personality or the Personality of others then I think you may be OK. If you take what the Vedic profile says as either accurate or true then I think you are getting into trouble with God. Let me give you an example as I was just talking with someone about this recently. Many years ago I lived with a group of people who did an examination of conscience every evening and used Astrological terms as a reference. One reference was to look at my "Earth" qualities. These are a few "evolved" Earth qualities: endurance, loyalty, hard work, etc. Some less evolved "Earth" qualities are: Lethargy, laziness, inertia, procrastination, etc. Then we would look at actual behavior we observed ourselves doing: (I'm just making these up :-) : took 1/2 hour to get out of bed; Earth quality , non evolved, goal tomorrow only take 20 minutes to get out of bed in AM. You see, whether the astrological chart or terms or qualities themselves are accurate is unimportant and should not be given any importance. It is only your observed behavior which is important and you know to be accurate. But there is another issue. If other Christians faith or belief is weakened or harmed by what you are doing then you must not do it. As an example, please read 1st Corinthians 8:1-8. This is an account of meat sacrificed to idols but is a perfect example of what I mean. I have not thought about this for awhile but it seems to me that a reference which you might use to assess personality characteristics might look something like this: Responsibility to self and others: over responsibility (caretaking )of others); appropriate responsibility (balance between helping others and taking care of own needs adequately; under responsibility : pure selfishness, takes care of self but doesn't help others at all. This is just an example but I suspect you get the idea; that is to take care of your own needs and desires but in a way that is respectful of other Christians. God bless you for what you are doing and I highly respect you for planning on looking at the original Greek that the New testament was originally written in for your guide. Like you that is the only thing that I trust 100%.

If you have not had any sleep for 2 days and all your psychiatrist tells you is to take melatonin you need to get a different psychiatrist! There are more effective sleep aids than that! Either Elavil or trazodone are very effective sleep aids and are not addicting. Please do what I suggest as I am sure if you do you will be much happier. There is no need for you to feel so bad!

  • I’m Catholic. Should I consider becoming a Christian?

Best answer: You ask some excellent questions. To understand you have to understand why God created us. God's nature is love and the desire of love is to love others and to be loved in return. Before God created anything He was alone. God created us so that He could love us and be loved in return. In the original Greek of the New Testament the highest kind of love is "agape". Agape is a free will choosing to always act in the other's best interest even if it causes us some suffering. In John 15:13, Jesus says, "that man has no greater agape than to give his life for his friends." To be able to freely choose to agape God we must have the option to not choose that. That is the answer to your question.

  • Why do atheists claim that science disproves the Bible when their argument rests upon the assumption of uniformitarianism?

Best answer: Atheist's claims rest more than on the assumption of uniformitarianism.- Atheist's claims also depend on the suspension of half of the laws of physics, chemistry, probability, and many other well known laws of established science. An Atheist wants their claims to be true and therefore forgets about laws of accepted Science. show more

I think that a person who says that they are not convinced that God is either real or not but has an open mind on the subject is very honest. An Atheist who says "that there is no God", is not being open as it is impossible for a person with a good command of logic to accurately say that there is no God. To honestly and accurately say that there is no God requires a person to investigate every area of the Universe and every subject in every branch of knowledge and be intelligent enough to understand everything and conclude that there is no God. I don't think that there is a person like that and besides that I have witnessed the reality of God in Spiritual experience and Know without a doubt that God is real from my own personal experience. Thank you for asking this very interesting question.

Best answer: I am not a Business man but I can tell you what I said to God the first time I met Him. I did not say anything! Being in the Presence of the 1 and only God is so awesome and so wonderful that all desire leaves you. You are filled with the awareness of God's love for yourself and "all" living creatures. And I do mean "love for all living creatures". There is no sense of criticism about any person, only the awesome sense of God's infinite love for yourself and all living creatures. This means that because God loves you so much and because I love God with all my heart, I am not only required to love you but also that God has filled my heart with love for you my dear brother. I love you so much because I know that God loves you with an infinite love. In fact I am so filled right now with love for you and for God that I cannot write any more. I now ask God to grant you the experience of the reality of God and of His awesome love for you. I ask in Jesus Name Amen
