Sweat is the release of water from the pores in a response from the skin that it is getting hot. This can be internal or external heat generated. Now, when we expend energy we can do that in small areas like isometric exercise, or widespread like shoveling snow. I would suspect that the eliptical is more efficient at getting muscles to exert energy where the treadmill is getting the body hot in general. Does that make sense? It did to me anyway. g-day!

Best answer: The Vietnam war was an extension of efforts by the French in the region after WWII. When the French pulled out, South Vietnam turned to the US for help so initially we sent "advisers" to help them and later armed forces to protect the advisers and from there it escalated. The Cold War originated in Germany at the end of WWII as US and Russian forces tried to seize the military technology left by the Nazis. The US already had "the bomb" and with missile technology, Russia felt it was at risk of attack from the West, whom they didn't trust. An arms race ensued with nuclear proliferation being the key element. Massive land based, air and submarine fleets designed to deliver both first strike and retaliatory nuclear weapons bombardments drained the coffers of both nations. Russia "lost" the Cold War when she could no longer afford to keep up with the pace of military spending of the US. So, no I don't think Vietnam was a consequence of the Cold War. `

Best answer: Entry level is so hard to predict what is best for a beginner. What kind of pictures are you going to take, and how are you going to use them? Unless you are going to make enlargements of your photos to hang on the wall, you probably don't need anything over 5 or 6 megapixels. The 5d is 12 megapixel. If you are emailing your photos or posting them on line, you will want to reduce them to several kilobytes to save bandwidth. Ebay pics are rather small too. If you are going to make 11x14 blow ups to put on the wall, then the 12 megapixel camera is great. Photography is about composition and background. You can learn to do that with a disposable camera or low end digital. Digital cameras in the 5-8 megapixel with built-in zoom are easy to handle and produce good results. If you are looking for SLR (single lens reflex - or looking through the lens at the actual picture you are taking rather than looking at an LCD screen) then you have the additional expense of interchangeable lenses. I used to be a professional photographer and had top end cameras for that work. Today, both my wife and I have Canon EOS Rebels in 6 megapixel and are extremely happy with them. You can usually get them for under $300 on ebay. It comes with the 18-55mm lens as standard. We added the 75-300mm IS USM lens and with those two lenses we find we can take just about everything we want. I have a number of additional lenses, but those are the two I end up packing when I take my camera out on the road. (So I have around $600 total in my camera and lens.) My friend just bought his wife a Nikon digital 8 megapixel with 15x zoom and they are very happy with it. So, it all depends what you are going to do with your pictures, how much money you want to spend, how much time you have to learn how to handle the camera and how committed to the time it takes to learn SLR photography. Read about the different options before you buy and spend what you need for a camera to do what you intend to do with your photos. Good luck! ~

My wife and I have the 6mp Canon EOS Rebels that I got off eBay for less than $300 each and I find them excellent cameras. The 6mp size takes up a lot of computer storage space so I can't imagine how much of a memory hog 15mp would be. I find that in order to send pictures over the internet I have to reduce the size of a picture to a few hundred kilobytes, so no matter how big the image started it usually ends up rather small. Images shot at 15mp will enlarge nicely without losing quality, but I make 8x10 pictures with the 6mp okay. How many photos are you planning to blow up to hang on the wall? Okay my point is, there are a lot of Canon cameras in the 6, 8 and 10 mega-pixel range for a lot less money. If you like the price of the 500d go for it. It is a great camera. You say you are just starting out, so you don't really know what your "style" of shooting will be and how your photos will be used (internet postings, art gallery, screen savers....) If it were me, I'd go for a camera that costs less and then buy the 75-300mm USM IS telephoto lens to go with my 18-55mm. Those two lenses are the only ones I used out of the dozen or so I own for my Rebel. The 18-55mm is a great all around, and the telephoto is great for birds, sports, nature and catching images from some distance away. When I went to photography school many decades ago when I was a professional photographer, they had us use a cheap instamatic camera, like the disposable ones today. They taught us that the camera is the least of your worries in getting the right shot. The photo begins in the eye using composition and background before it is captured on film (or digital media today.) You can take good pictures with a cheap camera, but having a great camera doesn't mean your pictures will automatically be great as well. Good luck. Photography is so fun, I wish you well. ~
