    im a builder in uk ..but have worked in the states ..and canada ..so know american construction ..to us its a bit mickey mouse ..however ..your slab should have been covered in hessian sacking after 12 hours ..less if sunny ..and sprayed with water for a week to keep surface damp ..this prevents cracking ..between your framing and brick skin... show more

YES

    as one answers says ..if your gas main pipe has a bayonet type fitting ..and your new cooker has a corresponding fitting on end of flexi pipe then you can do it ..if not it must be done by a registered gas safe engineer ..used to be called CORGI .....

    im a builder in uk ..have worked in thousands of houses ..completed 6.000 +contracts ...i always scribe the initials of present owners in the mortar when doing roofworks ...but as for tools in walls ..one answer said cats? never heard of it ...except sometimes a pointing trowel or maybe a hammer might fall into cavity ..even under floors ..but... show more

    if you have gap insurance you will be ok ...reading other answers im not sure your gap insurance works same as ours in uk ...in uk ..if you pay £20.000 for a car ..get gap insurance ..6 months later its wrote off ..insurance value £15.000 ..gap will pay you £5.000 to make up to original cost ...you will just have inconvenience cost of sorting it out show more

    you have a couple of right answers ...water ..im a builder uk ..in the summer when hot ..the ground drys out ..so when digging post holes ..we dig down 6" fill with water ..that soaks in and you can take out another 6" fill with water etc ..to help break up on a more permanent nature ..mix sharp sand into the clay ..it will help it... show more

    you made many mistakes ..the first ..scraping off the popcorn ...a wallpaper steam stripper softens it and it just falls off ...you covered the ceiling with joint compound ..then painted it when it was only surface dry ..it needs to be bone dry to stop a roller from lifting the paint ...pva the bad areas left ..let it dry ...then paint show more
