• If I lose my health card and order a new one (Ontario) but then find my old one, will the old one be invalid? If so, how is that possible?

I have a Quebec Medicare card, and it has a bar code on it. The bar code is small and subtle and you hardly notice it, but it's there. So when you get a new updated card, the bar code will code for a different numeric sequence, so the old numeric sequence will be cancelled in the computer. So when you get a new updated card, the bar code will code for a different numeric sequence, so the old numeric sequence will be cancelled in the computer. Also, your health card number might have your birth date on it? So let's say your birthday was Jan. 2nd 1990, your health card number could be 123456020190, and when you get an updated card your number is now 123457020190 and the previous number is now invalid. Anyway, all of this is just guessing. I don't know how they do it.

There's no point in letting religions disgust you. I became atheist at age 22 and that was almost 40 years ago. There still exist many places in the world where you can be sentenced to 1000 lashes and 10 years in jail for blogging against religion, or against political leaders. Or you could be poisoned with novichok. Or publicly beheaded. Or a young woman could be officially raped because her brother raped someone else. So it's no wonder in some countries people stick to religion. There's no reason for them to believe in political justice.

  • As far as the real god is concerned, isn't over 2/3 of the world, and the majority of even those who do follow him, basically atheists?

Best answer: There's no such thing as a real god. All those god things are imaginary. I do think there's a problem with billions of people around the world who blindly follow the religious trappings of their family religion. For example Christians who follow Easter and Christmas traditions and decorate a tree! The old testament warns people not to decorate trees! Jeremiah 10:2-4: "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not." (King James Version). Anyway, if people would actually read their 'holy books' many would become secular humanist and that would be wonderful! EDIT: Anonymous asker, "For all intents and purposes, if you don't know the real god, you don't follow a god, you follow your imagination." No, no that's not it - if you follow a god you are following your imagination!

  • Am I wrong for believing this?

In many parts of the world, we have freedom of religion. You appear to be from a free-ish part of the world, so you can believe what you wish. You are not wrong. I don't think 'world order' is something that humans can do. I think an extra terrestrial invasion is extremely unlikely, so world order might happen if there was human extinction.

  • God wants life to have meaning. Life's meaningless without free will. With free will, there's always suffering. So, God wants suffering?

The gods don't actually exist. All gods were invented by humans, for human purposes, like keeping the poor 'in their place,' and gaining wealth and power. So, no, imaginary things have no wants, so gods don't want suffering.

No. There are no miracles. There are never miracles. Everything follows scientific rules, but sometimes the science is something that we have yet to figure out. In this case, the plane had just taken off, and after a couple of seconds, it was hit by some massive hail storm. It was hardly in the air! It was a survivable event. show more

All gods are myths. In ancient times people were very afraid of storms and earthquakes and volcanoes and many things. They thought the gods or the spirits of the ancestors might help them, if they worshiped and sacrificed. So people invented the idea of gods. Gods could get angry and kill whenever they wanted. Gods could give a good harvest, or they could cause famine. These stories helped people understand the good and bad actions of humans, and the random acts of nature. Then a few people made religion so that certain individuals could gain wealth and power. "Give money to our temple (or whatever building) or we'll tell everyone you're doing witchcraft and you'll burn." Just like paying protection money to the mafia. And it's been building ever since.

Hmm, so it's not a perception of nothingness, it's a total absence of perception. When you are dead, you permanently loose perception, but all your molecules continue to exist. So, no, I'd say there's no nothingness. Or, I can't say there wouldn't be something: kind of a double negative.
