Sims 3 will not uninstall?

I installed Sims 3 only to discover my laptop couldn't run it and now when I try and uninstall it thought add remove programs it won't let me it just comes up with this. . Error Code: -5006 : 0x80070003

    did you try to uninstall it in the control panel / programs / uninstall
