Central family room in Hong Kong with Harbour view?

We are visiting Hong Kong over Xmas and New Year and are looking for a central hotel around the Wan Chai area for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Anyone have any recommendations, also it would be good to have a harbour view if possible. As we are going for so long it would be good to keep the price down, so around US$150 a night maximum.

Thanks

It will probably be difficult to find a room for four people for that price. Especially for a room with a harbor view . . . during holiday season!

The following is a budget hotel in the Kowloon/Tsim Sha Tsui area. It's a couple of blocks away from the Temple Street Night Market. Walking distance to Jordan Station and Kowloon Park. It has no view at all!

However, you can get a room with four twin beds (so everyone sleeps well!) that includes breakfast, computer access (with internet), free washer/dryer, onsite travel assistance, etc. It's a family run place. My husband, two children and I have stayed there for the past four years when we travel to Hong Kong for Chinese New Year.

It's the Evergreen Hotel, on Woo Sung Street, off of Nathan Road. You can read about them at

http://www.evergreenhotel.com

They don't advertise their four-bed room anymore, but it shows up on the reservation pages. Or, you could call them. It's $950 HK per night (that's $122 US).

Good luck!

Welcome to Hong Kong! From Xmas through Lunar New Year is peak tourist season in HK, hotel rates should be quite expensive esp for any harbour views in near the downtown core. I'ld like to suggest the following,

    - The Empire Hotel, situated in Hennessy Road of WanChai District. Their rooms are quite spacious and allows adding a 3rd bed (possibley with extra charge).

    - The Ramada Hotel located in Des Veoux Road (or Queens Road West), Western District. They have a mini suite comes with a sofa which can be used as bed. Some of their rooms have harbour views. Since you'll be out most of the time, it's not worth paying the extras for harbour view rooms. Instead take a stroll in the evenings along the Tsimshatsui East harbour front corridor to enjoy the magnificent breathtaking FREE harbour view.

    - The Gold Coast Hotel in Tsuen Wan District. It's facing the sea, many of its rooms should have harbour views but it's not very close to the main shopping districts of Mongkok, Tsimshatsui, Causeway Bay, Central etc.

Check www.CXHolidays.com for their airfares + hotels special packages. Have a wonderful stay!
