Tips for staying awake on very long bus joruneys?

I get very bad sleep, a problem I have battled with for the best part of 20yrs.. I'm 25 if you are wondering.
I have just moved house but until I can find a new job then I am faced with a daily 2hr bus journeys and 3hr journeys when I work Saturdays.
I tend to fall asleep and to my amazement no one has robbed me yet, which I think is down to pure luck.

I want to stay awake!
Any tips pls?

books are good, but might make you sleepy too. You could get one of those little hand held video games...even if its just the cheap ones that play poker or battleship or something simple. It will keep your mind alert. Coffee or soda helps too. take one along. Write a letter or post cards to friends. Make lists of things you have to do. theres a few ideas , hope they help
