Connecting flight questiond please answer very confused?

ok so this is my question im going from dominican republic to amsterdam but i have a connection flight which is on newark airport so i go from dominican republic to newark so my question is when i arrive at newark what do i need to do and what am i going to expected their.

What you need to do is try and get your luggage cleared all the way to your destination.

When you land you will still need to go through customs. However, it is a gray area because you never leave the international terminal.

Under normal circumstances when you enter the US and have connecting flights within the US, you go through customs and immigration, where you get your bags, then once out the customs and immigration area you have to take your bags to where you put your bags on conveyors to get them to your connecting flight.

Just be flexible and inform the flight staff of your situation, they can best tell you what to expect.
