Need visa help! I want to visit my husbby in the UK for our wedding anniversary, no idea where to start.?

Last Christmas I intended to visit my partner from the UK (not married at the time) with my daughter for 4.5 months. I had 2 prior denied visa applications because of lack of
paperwork. But later realised that I didn't need a visa in order to visit. When I reached the UK, I was turned away on the grounds of not enough money and unsure of what we would be doing for the 4.5 months. In not so many words I was accused of not intending to return back to the USA, even though I had a return ticket, a job to go back to, court documents stating that I had to return with my daughter due to a custody agreement. The UK Boarder Agent didn't properly read over my papers and made a mistake. Another agent on duty took over the case told me that I was being sent back home to the USA, it was to late to fix my papers because they were already signed off on, and that if I wished to enter the UK I will need a visa.

I am now hoping to spend my wedding anniversary 10 days max. with my husband in the UK. I wanted to know how to get a visa for this occasion? I really do not want to go through the same horrible experience as last time going without a visa. Even though we are are now married I still would like to have a visa, just in case. Ideally my travel dates would be March 10th to March 19th 2010. Please some advice.

You were probably turned away because you had two prior visa applications denied.
Ask for advice from your nearest consulate, the problem is that as you were denied entry to the UK it may prevent you visiting the UK for a while.

I made a mistake, I was denied 1 time and when I got there I was turned away. I've been to the UK plenty of times and never over stayed or done anything wrong. The mistake I made was applying for the visa in the first place. I didn't need it. I just want to spend time there for my anniversary.

I have plenty of reason not to say in the UK. I'm persuing a career in law enforcement and I have a daughter from a previous marriage that cannot travel with me. Her father & I have certain custody arrangements. We found a lawyer that will be helping us out...fingers crossed. Thanks a bunch
