Manchester or Liverpool ?

Which is Better and why ?

Manchester is by far the best. Great shopping centre with the Arndale and The trafford centre. Great nightlife. As for being safe? There is just as much Crime (if not more) in Liverpool than there is in Manchester. We also have a great sense of Humour.

I cant stand scousers or that whine that comes out of there mouths or there football teams. So being the only person to give a reasonable answer I think that you excelled yourself and the City of Manchester. YOur answer was the best. (I have lived in both and agree with you)

until recently i would have said liverpool but this season feel they are not being as well managed as they were.
oh did you mean the place? - neither - i moved out of london 6 years ago for the same reason my grandfather left manchester - cities are unhealthy and unsafe most of the time not just a bit of the time!

Liverpool - looks prettier, safer, waterfront, more theatres/museums/galleries, better sense of humour. UNESCO World Heritage site

Liverpool. It was the Capital of Culture, it has breathtaking views along the River Mersey, wonderful museums. The new shopping centre is fantastic, and now they have penguins dotted around the city centre (which is a great pastime for the Christmas holidays - take the kids out for the day and find them all).

Definitely Liverpool. Although, Manchester isn't bad either. London is the worst!

Manchester. It is much bigger, it has much better night life, much better bars, pubs, cinemas etc. and much better shopping. As a city it is much more prosperous than Liverpool as well. Liverpool is mostly very run down and poor in comparison. The scousers are also sarky and rude, with a bitter sense of humour, which they direct especially towards people who are well off. If you are a middle class person with a job then you are generally made to feel "snotty" and unwelcome in Liverpool.

Both cities have their bad and good points.

It is hard for me to choose which city I would live in (if I had to live in a city, I much prefer to live in my town of Southport).

Manchester has SLIGHTLY better shopping.

Liverpool has more culture, eg. Liverpool has the most museums outside of London. Plus it has the Royal Liver Building, which is one the the most beautiful buildings in the UK.

But both have an equal fantastic nightlife.

However if I had to choose I would choose Liverpool because I love being beside the sea and I wouldn't mind living in one of the new developments on the sea front.
