Cairo or luxor for a day excursion from sharm?

Question

Flying to Sharm over chrismas. Thinking of taking a day excursion but not sure if it should be Cairo or Luxor. Any reccomenedations?

In cairo the most important thing is the visit to the pyramids and Cairo museum.
In Luxor you visit the temples and the tombs.
In my opinion, you can imagine the pyramids, but you can never imagine the temples of Luxor.
My conclusion is Luxor cause you will not believe your eyes.

from my opinion Cairo is more suitable because Cairo is big and you can visit many places during the day,you can image the pyramids but the real pyramids is another thing.and you can go to Al hossien.and go to city town,you can see Modern Egypt in Cairo, You can feel reall or present Egypt in Cairo.
My recommended is Cairo.

I would go with Cairo. While there is so much to see, you will definitely get the most out of your visit if you can squeeze it all into one day. Be sure to check out the Pyramids of Cheops, Khefren, and Mycerinus, visit to the Sphinx and the Valley Temple, and spend time at the Egyptian Museum. You could also visit the Citadel as well as the medieval fortress of Salah-El-Din, the Mosque of Mohammed Ali, and the Khan El Khalili Bazaar.

Hello

I am working as holiday rep and i get this question all the time ,

Cairo is the capital of Egypt and it is a shame to be in Egypt and don't see the Pyramids

But Luxor actually more things to see and places to visit , it is FANTASTIC city and we are calling it now the open air museum

Usually what i tell my guests to Visit Cairo first and then if you have more time more money go to luxor

Check the website in the source so you can have better idea with videos also about each city and what is the over day program from Sharm El-Sheikh to both cities
