lol, i read your other question about scottish, english and american.....it does get annoying expecially when youre in the ignorant country of america...im in california for months at a time...they dont even know the difference...ex:"is'nt ireland and sotland and england th same place?"...some one actually asked me that

I've got used to it ... people aren't usually being rude, they just don't understand the difference ... I would usually try to point out the difference in order to "educate" them, but it long ago ceased to make me angry

Yes, it does but it happens all the time. All we can do is try to educate them.

No...what REALLY piises me of is people who cannot use the shift key and write "england" or "british" or "america" instead of the respect each country deserves ..use a capital letter...England, British, America wales etc.

It doesn't usually upset the English, but it usually upsets the Welsh, Scots and Irish. They are proud of their heritage and like to remind foreigners that they are NOT part of England. You can either call us English, Scots, Welsh or Irish as appropriate or British, which encompasses all of us

It does a little bit.
It's usually Americans that do it and I honestly think that some of them don't understand that Britain and England are not the same thing. I've been on holiday in Florida and some of the waiters etc. we spoke to were a bit confused.

Not if they're from another country no. It IS confusing. What really annoys me is when our own media and the likes do it...for instance I've lost count of the number of times a newsreader, for instance, as said "The Queen of England!!!!!! Muppets!

It infuriates me when Americans seem to think the UK consists only of England, eg the Queen of England... however, they are quick to claim ancestry the minute you mention Scotland, N Ireland or Wales!!! It's ignorant and has riled me for years grrrrr lol :)
