London Paddington to Oxford station takes about 1 hour and you should change at Reading station.

You'd need to make sure that you get the fast train as there are some slower trains that stop at all the stations in between.

Scotland is a large country so it would depend upon where you're going from, but let's say you are going from Edinburgh or Glasgow. It would take about 5-6 hours by train to Oxford.

Edinburgh to Oxford is roughly 370 miles. Oxford to London is roughly 60 miles.

You can get more details about the train from National Rail web site:

Dunno about on the train, but driving it would be straight up the M40... would probably take just either side of an hour or so depending on where in London you started and what the traffic was like. If you were out by the M25 right next to the A40/M40 or near Heathrow then it might be 40 minutes. If you're on the other side of London and have to battle it around the M25 or through the centre then it could be 2 or 3 hours!

I suspect the train would be around an hour - its not far really.

As for Scotland to Oxford... that would be a *lot* longer, but really, where in Scotland would you be starting!? (Its quite a big place)

If you were driving, Trafalgar Square to Oxford would be 62 miles, about 1 hour away in perfect traffic conditions, though clearly at rush hour, it could take that time just to reach the motorway!
