You should get your documents 120 to 90 days before your cruise. Your travel agent will let you know. If you do not get them by say 45 days, then contact the travel agent asap. I don't know about Royal Caribbean, but with Princess, most of your documents you get on line from your itinerary to your boarding pass. The only thing they send is you flight info, and your luggage tags. Even your flight tickets are E tickets with Princess. So this may be the same with RC too.

You have plenty of time to look/wait for deals. Start looking now to see how it looks, but dont book yet. Check every airline that you can possibly use to travel and apply all discounts (such as an auto club).
We usually book flights 6/7 months before we depart. Also, most airlines will give you a credit if the price drops from the time you book to the time near departure. Keep that in mind. I saved $265 one year, just by checking there website`s prices.

    Hope I helped!

    This sounds funny.

Even 11 months away they should have given you the basic flight details (which might actually vary a bit timewise on final confirmation).

Having to pay by May is also unusual, don't know of any other cruise line wanting to be paid in full 5 months before the trip, usually it's 8 weeks! Unless it is a big discounter who wants paying on booking but of course you are then paying a lot les than dealing with the line direct.

If you booked your flights through the cruise line [hopefully you didn't], then you may not find out your flights until a couple of weeks before your flight. You'll get a much better deal and better connections and flights if you book the flights yourself, usually. You also won't get your cruise documents until a month or so before your cruise.

If you have no details at the 60 day before sailing, call the booking agent or cruise line.
