UK student visa - WHAT TO WEAR?

i have NO idea, they told me there wont be an interview i just have to submit my documents in person and go through biometrics(finger printing) my mom insists on me wearing slacks with a long sleeved shirt but i think its a bit much. i would have worn a long black and grey stripped t-shirt dress with black leggings and sandals. ideas please? help!

thanks for the visuals. :) the outfit i prepared sort of looks like that but i chose to wear a skirt inslead of pants.. :)

4+ inch heels and hold up stockings would go down well with me.

Go for smart casual, better to be slightly over dressed then under. Even if it's not necessary it'll make a good first impression if you present yourself well.

The Visa department will not be at all concerned about what you wear - although obviously dress respectfully. Since there's no interview, whatever visual impression you give cannot, even subconsciously, be taken into account. So what you yourself would have gone for is fine. That said, it might be better to go with what your mother says - not as it will make any difference, but as it will help keep the peace.
