How do I search for death announcement in South Africa online?

Question

I am looking for a friend who is terminally ill but I can not trace him down. How can I search for any death announcement on the internet. My friend lived in South Africa, Mpumalanga. He was attending a day centre in Botswana. I heard he has passed away but how can I check online that will give me some details free of charge?

Hi Zara. That is so sad. I have posted a link here for Botswana newspapers. Perhaps you could do an online search in the deaths column. Or maybe contact them and ask for their help. I hope this is helpful.

Try the online SA newspapers, they probably have death notices :-)
