Which major Italian city is considered the safest?

Question

Statistically speaking anyway, which major Italian city is usually considered to be the safest? I've heard people say Turin in the past, but I'm not sure. I've also heard Pisa is another pretty safe one, although, that's relatively small.

on the top there is the little city of oristano, in sardinia

the major cities are at the end of the list, it means that are not very safe, respect the small urban centers

the least safe are turin, Genova, bologna, milano

No one. Turin, Milan, Rome, Florence are full of illegal immigrants. Naples and Palermo are full of maphius.

Among the major cities the safest is probably Florence. But on the average the safest are the middle towns of the North-Centre (for instance: Bergamo, Mantova, Modena, Ferrara, Verona, Padova, Udine, Pisa, Perugia, Siena, Viterbo, L'Aquila...) Notice that Pisa is very small, though it is very well known as a touristic destination.

nothing. You have to hold your bag all the time. When I was there I prefered not to have a bag and put all my belongs in my pocket to feel free while walking.

Cars can be stolen in a second, but at the end of the day it is a nice country to visit.

If you asked which ones were dangerous it would be easier to answer. Italy is having alot of issues with immigrants, drugs, rapes, murders, ect that have become an issue in almost every city of any size. Most of the places are usually ok as long as you know where you can go and what time to be off the street. I would recommend staying away from the cities if you are planning on moving to Italy, just find a place on the outskirts of a city. If your going to visit then just stay in the tourist areas and don't go out too late at night alone.

The tourist island of Venice is the safest. It is expensive so not many "bad guys" can afford to live on there or even spend the night. Most of the "bad guys" live on the mainland, which is less expensive. Just keep safe!

I just got back from Italy. I felt pretty safe in Rome. Naples is disgusting and full of criminals, don't go there. They also don't seem to like Americans very much. I'll keep my behind in the USA from now on.

I don't like the classifications... and I think they don't reflect the reality. Unfortunately, you think Italy isn't a safe country... but I think every Italian city, also the one in the last position of a classification, is safer than an American city.
However, the web says Matera. As for my opinion, I don't know.

Milan! Its a great city in the north. much better than Roma.

Plus if you like shopping then come to milan
