Ventolyn in my hand luggage?

I haven't flown with my grandaughter before, and she is 9, and a chronic asthmatic. Can I take her inhaler in my handbag for her, or will it be one of the things they confiscate?

My husband and son both need inhalers and there is absolutely no problem whatsiever taking this in hand luggage; it won't be confiscated or even raise eyebrows as it's essential that asthmatics always have immediate acces to their inhaler(s).
