How much will this journey cost?

ok I always get confused about how much journeys cost so can someone help me please =)

Going on the overground to Liverpool Street.
Then from Liverpoool Street getting the Central Line to Tottenham Court Road.
And back again.

This will be on an adult oyster card
If someone can break it down for me rather than just saying the overall price that would be a big help :)

Take the Victoria line to Oxford Circus then the Central line to TCR will cost £2.70 peak time and £2.20 off peak each way, less than 30 minutes probably quicker than the route via Liverpool street.
The fare just to Liverpool street is also £2.70 / £2.20
