There is no legal way to go there if you want to go there without even informing the immigrations of both countries.
However, if you are planning to move and stay there legally, without being traced by family or friends or others, then there are many ways to stay theere.
Going is not difficult, just approach the Indian embassy in London and get a visa, then get a ticket and there you go: In a few hours you will land in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad or Chennai as you wish.
To work in India for six years, you will need a work permit. You can get it from the Indian embassy in London or one of the depts of Human Resources Ministry in India.
The better idea is - of course if it is feasible for you- find a job in UK company which has a offshoring unit India. There are many companies like that. And offer them that you can move to India to train the recruits there or coordinate something.
As per my experience, I have found many companies will be happy to do that. They might offer you a lesser salary than offered in UK, but then it will actually work out to be higher, as the living cost in India is way below that in UK.
This method will be easier, as you don't have to take the hassle of many things like work permit, residence, finding a job in India and so on.
I have heard that sometimes people just fly to India on a tourist visa and spend years traveling around teaching english or doing similar work. Some people move in to Nepal from there and work and live the same way. But, I don't suggest this method as Indian as well as Nepali immigration guys are quite smart and overstaying a visa will not do good to the rest of your life.
hope this helps.
