for you to immigrate to the US you would have to get the relevant fiance or spouse visa http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/… ... I understand from other people that these are not easy to get, but if you are determined and can afford the fees it can be done

however, I had a friend who immigrated to the US who was a well qualified and experienced electrician in the UK ... he wasn't allowed to work in the US with his UK qualifications as their elec system there is substantially different to ours ... he had to re-take the US qualifications and even then found work scarce ... the marriage did survive because his wife was working and earning good money, but it took him about 5 years to make anything like a decent living

The US isn't like the EU, as you can't just move here without an immigrant, student, or work visa (work visas are awarded only to persons who have a skill that a company can't find an American to do; many are in medical professions or are prominent leaders in their field).

USCIS.gov is the site that has answers to all your questions.

Marry her and get a greencard - you can always divorce afterwards - but the greencard is for life.
There are precise rules about this, i think you have to go over there on a 3 month visa waiver and marry within the country - not outside it.

If you move to America try not to be too pompus like many of the English when they go out there. They are comparbly insular people but also proud and generous.

Electricains are needed everywhere but you have to research what is required and you may need to abit of retraining.

Understand the cost of it all.

Read doc love, then RSD tyler durden if you want to keep your American girl.

Be aware of where the bad neighbourhoods are and try not to wonder into them
