Do British rail give services discount? ie; will my Army ID get me cheap rail travel ?

Yes you can buy a Forces Rail Card from your unit admin staff. It costs £15 per year and gives you a 34% discount on all your rail fares.

unfortunately they don't which is pretty disgusting as they should do out of respect for the members of our Armed Forces the scheme was scrapped many years ago the only way is if you have a travel warrant

You can try but I think you need a special card from the Services to get discounted or even free travel. It's like a travel warrant.

A friend of mine lives here in portsmouth and he has to travel to andover by train when he goes off for training and stuff and i know he has a card that gets him discount ive seen it. and he dont just have to use it when he is going somewhere for training he uses it no matter where he is going on the trains.

But you may have to apply for such a card, maybe even try in your local train station see if you can use your millatary ID to apply for some kind of pass.
