In Hong Kong, does public transport run on public holidays?

I wish to travel from Hong Kong into mainland China (Guangzhou) on December 26th (Boxing Day) which I understand is a local public holiday. Do coaches / railway run on this day? Are they usually busy on this day?

They should although they may have a different time schedule during public holidays. Pls check with your travel agent or the bus companies for the frequency of the buses.
