It has a beach. That's natural, and the reason why all the other things were built there.

It's on a train line which serves most of the North West, and was easy to get to before the motorways were built.

Nowadays, Blackpool is famous for its tower, the pleasure beach, donkey rides, the piers, the promenade and the beach (which they claim they've cleaned up). The pleasure beach is a smallish theme park, and used to have some of the countries' "best" rides. Other theme parks have surpassed Blackpool's offerings now, though.

The piers are always good fun, with their 2p machines, and the tower has a lot of attractions for children. I went to help with a school trip last June, and the circus was particularly good. I also went myself as a child, and enjoyed it a lot then too.

It's a good place for small children and for stag dos, but generally it is quite a grim place. Last June, a lot of it was being done up, but it was still pretty dismal (and raining, of course).

I was in Blackpool about a month ago for a lads weekend, getting drunk going to clubs ect...

I come from Edinburgh in Scotland and after I went to Blackpool I realised how lucky I was that I stayed in Edinburgh.

Blackpool is an absolute sh!thole, totally horrible place, the people are nice, everyones friendly but its an absolute dump. I used to stay in a really poor part of Hong Kong for a few months and that place was nicer than Blackpool.

Seriously I don't know what you've heard about it being some tourist attraction but if was a tourist I wouldn't go there.

Best attractions, really rubbish theme park with about 1 good ride, a really crap tower which looks like an electricity pylon, thats about it really.

If I was rating it out of 10 I'd give it 2.

This mind sound harsh mate but honestly its the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Go to London, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Wales, Dublin.

    Blackpools like a punishment.

Blackpool isn't somewhere I'd even remotely consider visiting to experience nature.

It does have a zoo but that's not really wild nature is it?

How about the sand dunes just down the road at St.Annes?
