How long will it take for a parcel to arrive from the USA to the UK.?

I've ordered a small parcel about the size of two iPod nano's. It cost roughly £10 and I was wondering how long it would take. It was sent by 1st Class International Mail. Will I have to pay any additional fee's for this item, some people have told me sometimes the customs dont even charge you for items.
Anyway, any help is appreciated.

You could potentially be charged duty, but my experience is that this generally doesn't happen for small personal packages. and it depends on what has been declared for the shipment.

As for time scales, i've waited 5+ weeks in the past for international mail from the US, and you might have to wait this long, but similarly it could arrive after 10-15 days.

the only way you would pay extra is if the post office your end had not charged enough stampage so when it arrived here then there would be a charge but most unlikely, customs are not involved at all ,about 3 to 5 days is normal but could take much longer .
