I am travelling from the O2 tomorrow night 10:30pm back into Leicester SQ. Is the tube safe for lone female?

Hi - travelling from O2 arena after the tennis. How safe is it to travel tube back into central london?

Very safe! I have done it lots and actually, do it most days. Its much much better now people cant drink on the tube! If you feel uncomfortable change carriages or get off the tube, all platforms have an emergency assistance point and there are emergency alarms on the tube near each each of doors too - stand near one of them if your worried!

The tube is fairly safe. There should be plenty of people going from the tennis in your direction and you can just mingle with the crowd. It only gets risky if you get isolated - but that's true of anywhere.

Um...this is London we're talking about. 10:30pm a fair few people, male and female will still be on the tube...

there will be loads of people around at that time I would imagine - tourists, students, bar-goers... not to mention all the hundreds of people also travelling back from the O2. I wouldn't worry about it - I worked in London for years and was always out late after pubs etc and it was fine.
