Can Lebanese people please answer this . . .?

Question

Hi everyone, basically there is this beautiful Lebanese girl that I know and we're friends but there is something between us. I am however asian (Indian) and I get the feeling that this girl really likes me but she is scared due to our difference in culture, She is a Shi'a Muslim and very proud to be from Lebanon. Can someone tell me the consequences that she is afraid might happen if she did go out with me, My family will also be against this but I really like this girl & can convince my parents. She won't tell me whats wrong but I definitely know its because of our different backgrounds

she might be looking for a long term relationship, planning her wedding as some might say. Are you muslim? perhaps its because Muslim women cannot get married to non-muslim men and so she doesnt want to put you that situation, she doesnt want to urge u to change ure beliefs for her or go against ure parents in one way or another. If u rlly like her, try getting to know her background, her faith, there is a lot to being a shi'a. Personally, i think love is all about sacrifices and why wouldnt u work out if u share common likes/dislikes and a mutual understanding and level of consciousness. Background is nothing in that context unless u make a something out of it. Have a chat with her.

if its long distance she probably just wants someone closer to home which i totally understand but also she just might not be interested... you must respect her chioce and you cant keep pushing her as this will make her more distant from u x

Her parents would go crazy on her if they found out she was going out with a guy.
Just talk to her more, and try to get the problem out of her. (:

Try ur best, and don't give up too easily. Try to show her parents that ur an excellent person, and that they shouldn't judge someone by his background and religion. Good luck!

Nah man, it's probably a difference in religion and a lot in culture. We like to marry within our group. just like most indians do. Honestly I don't really pay attention to other men b/c i don't want to fall in love with them in the future.

Yea erm, i think its the totally different type of culture and that. And middle easterns tend to be with someone within the same group, so basically middle eastern for a middle eastern.

Yes, it's probably because of your backgrounds. Also, she can't really date you, unless you are also a Muslim. In Islam, dating is not allowed and if you do date, it's for the intention of marrying that person. You can't marry her unless you are a Muslim, as Islam also prohibits this. Not all Muslims are this strict, but it depends on the person. You're really going to have to work hard to get this girl :P
