Why do the labour party give more to foriegn aid then look after its own country.

n the same week that Gordon Brown announced £1 million in flood aid to Cumbria, the Department For International Development gave out an incredible £293 million in foreign aid to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the World Bank, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia.

Because the spineless British people put up with it and do nothing about it. the British have a chance to send a positive message to parliament by voting all the main three traitorous parties out of the running at the next election, but d'ya know what!....the fools will still vote for the same bloody farce. lib lab or con....then continue to moan through the next five years.......that's the British for you..Its the reason we are in such a mess. We have allowed parliament to become a foul den of thieves.

This is absolutely disgusting, the Labour party need to be lined up and shot for treason, and failing to protect our people. I know they probably couldn't have stopped what happened, but their inaction since it happened is ridiculous, they need to do much more. We have British people that today have had to drive 90 miles instead of a two minute journey because bridges are down in Cumbria. How far does Gordon the Clown think that 1 million quid will go? 1 million wont even repair ONE bridge, and the area has 1800 of them that may now need repairs or reinforcing.

We have towns and villages literally cut off, people can't get access to prescription drugs and babies are at risk. This should have been declared a disaster area, yet the govt would sooner send money to foreigners that would stab us in the back and blow us up.

Foreign aid is linked to trade deals. A lot of this trade is either direct or indirect trade arms deals.

All governments do it! This is how it works:

Countries such as Israel, who carry out Western policy in the Middle East, get armed by the US and Britain. Countries like Sri Lanka receive humanitarian aid on the condition that their government purchase their military hardware from the UK arms producers. The arms industry is a powerful lobby group so they have the ear of governments.

Another twist is that, if the country buying the arms can't or won't pay for the weapons, the manufacturers are bailed out by the tax payer...you and me!

If you think the BNP are would be different from any other pro capitalist party in this then you're mistaken. They would support this sort of activity because it's good for the British bosses!

The reason is because The Labour Party are traditionally Christian and Christians are firm believers in helping the poor because Jesus did.

I think this Prime Minister and his Government are not aware of our people. They seem to find it very difficult in showing real support when the support is needed here at home.You only need to look at the situation with our troops and now the suffering of those poor people in Cumbria.
There was never any difficulties in printing trillions to bail out the rich bankers and don't give me the argument that we need these millionaires to keep the economy going.
How can we send all these millions abroad, just to line their pockets and for them to buy arms?
However when our volk are in difficulties this Prime Minister comes up with his tonic of ONE MILLION to help out. To help out what, for Gods sake.To built a foot bridge?
This Government and its leader are no longer worth the positions they have put themselves in.
This is an insult to us all,what ever party you support.

The answer to this quite simple. The Labour Party has always been a party that loves giving our money away to others or wasting it on themsleves or their pet projects.

The figures you state are truly disgusting. Cumbria, not for the first time, has suffered greatly with the weather and it's consequences and all of this money should have been given to them and boll**ks to Pakistan etc.
