Hallo, With respect it is not the sex you want to consider first, its the dogs welfare that should be number one. Do you work, are you out of your home a lot of times, do you live in a flat. Do you mind going out when it is pelting down with rain. Have you got a large garden? is there a park close to you? can you afford to feed him, or her? Are you prepared or capable of makeing sure the dog does not go out until at least two weeks after its second jab? Vets rip you off will you get the dog insured, or have you the right to use the Blue Cross hospitals? Will you make sure he has a collar and lead? The dog must have plenty of room, do you have it? If you can honestly answer yes to most of these questions, then it may be time to choose your dog. What I do is go to the local library, get the book on your prefered breed, and look in the back for the Secretary of the breed in the UK.then ask her forthe details of a breeder she can reccomend. You will then be sure of not getting a "factory" dog. Then begins the HARD WORK of training. Do you still think you want to care for a dog? Best Wishes, and a Merry Xmas to you and your dog.
